I just read that 9.0 "leak"

Setting aside all of the other ridiculous stuff, it makes little sense for gilgoblins to be tinkers. Before BfA they were shown to be literal poop-flinging morons and in 8.2 none of them are particularly tech savvy.

Most likely fake, very fake, but I like a few of the ideas.

Mostly Xal being an “ally”. That’s a thought I’ve been entertaining for awhile now. Despite being freed by N’zoth, the other Old Gods were the reason she was in that dagger to begin with. I could see her being the “good” void entity to help us battle her former brothers.

Astute point. I literally pity Poen with his limited intellectual capacity.

It makes a lot of sense, but it’s better to talk about it more like speculation. Xal’atath being the new transitional McGuffin character like Khadgar and Magni were is very much in-line with something Blizzard would do. She’d probably also lead a faction.

I’m not buying into it yet, but some of that sounds like a great proposal for a new expansion -

I’m just doubtful on the “Conquest Points” system that’s mentioned there. I thought Blizzard was going to can single-expansion systems. I’d rather they just take the new Azerite Essence system, and try to make the current Talent System more like it (note, its already at Azerite level 60 for high end gear!). The essence system could translate really well to leveling, and I like how it’s played.

Also:

UPDATE ALL THE ZONES! YES!

Best part of the “leak” is the bit about an Old God under Tirisfal. I’m guessing they didn’t play a warrior or pally in Legion.

Well a few things makes no sense at all. Why attack thunder bluff. Even if Bain there a lot of tuarens still support her. Then why kill of the one person in whole game that mildly amusing.

Play BFA. Vol’jin is already back. He’s not dead.

Also, that leak is fake. The moment I read the “Old God beneath Tirisfal” I knew. All that was under Tirisfal Glades is Tyr’s tomb and the C’thraxxi General he imprisoned.

Considering she willingly handed us over for the Crucible, knowing what she was potentially giving freedom to … I don’t see Xal as being for anyone but herself.

Besides, the dagger and Xal are completely separate now. She’s gone her own way, to pursue her own goals.

That and cutting deals with eldritch abominations, no matter the reasons, never turns out to work for the fleshy living beings.

I don’t believe that this is true because the author separated Cataclysm and MoP. WoW did so much work putting them in the same tier - there’s no way that they would undo all that!

Unrelated but I kind of like the idea of a level squish, but I also want to be level 130 and have like millions of HP, just please make leveling alts a lot faster please and thank you.

Why does a cartoon villain do anything evil?

Because it’s evil.

still better than the other on going story. teen age rebellion. That at. Let get revenge. Oh wait. let leave.

It is worth nothing that there is a Kelfin engineering trainer. They have to be at least average intelligence.

I commented on that in another thread. About how the separations didnt jive with the way they changed the scaling. Why undo work that you JUST barely did? Also if you looked at the squish in the leak, it was all over the board. Everywhere from a 30% squish to a 66% squish. It was just so poorly done. A properly done squish would be relatively even across the board.

But you know… we all thought the “Iron Horde” was a joke, and it wound up being the combo-breaker of WoW expansions. This Age of Darkness Expansion is stupid enough that Blizzard might be doing it instead of “The Black Empire” as we should be getting.

Blizzard needs to start making expansions the players want, rather than what they want, because pretty soon they’ll be the only ones playing this game at the rate they are going.

Fake. Obviously with the bit saying (hint towards the Old God underneath Tirisfal?) Paladin Class campaign in Legion explains what is underneath Tirisfal. It’s not an Old God, it’s just a C’thrax. That the Paladins then kill. That being said, I do hope there is an oldworld revamp.

so… tinkers and gilgoblins… i’m okay with this, but why do tinkers only have 2 specs? that’s annoying… i mean, it was okay for demon-hunters, but c’mon… we don’t need 2 classes with 2 specs, give’em a third, tanking one.

This math is so easy are you trolling?

80 goes to 35, 40 goes to 15???

60 goes to 25

  • Level squish to 50 , new level cap 60 (Vanilla 1-20, TBC / WotLK / Cataclysm 20-30, MoP / WoD 30-40, Legion / BfA 40-50, AoD 50-60)

Very common forum suggestion.

  • New class Tinker , two specializations “Explosives” (ranged dd) + “Combat Medic” (healing), exclusive to Gnomes / Mechagnomes / Draenei / Goblins / Gilgoblins / Forsaken (pre-purchasable with Mechagnomes & Gilgoblins in 8.3 or 8.3.5)

Another popular forum suggestion.

  • Story: N’zoth unleashes darkness over Azeroth as foreshadowed in the Nighthold raid encounter with Star Augur Etraeus. Starting point is the attack on Thunder Bluff raid where he interrupts the Horde and Alliance forces in the final battle. Kalimdor is his first goal as the strives to revive one of our oldest foes, C’Thun in Silithus. To do this he’s seeking to destroy the Bronze Dragonflight and turn Nozdormu into Murozond so he alters the timeline where C’Thun doesn’t get defeated and the battle of Ahn’Qiraj is lost by Horde and Alliance in consequence.

Hard nope, N’zoth wouldn’t care to bring back C’Thun. The Old Gods barely liked each other in the first place. Remember the “Hour of Twilight”? That was N’zoth and nope, didn’t involve rezzing his bros. Likewise, after WoD? I highly doubt another Time Travel centric story.

  • No real dragon focus yet Bronze and Infinite dragonflight play a major role

Contradictory.

  • Xal’atath will play a major role as the main antagonist of the Old Gods (some kind of evil neutral); she commands us to captivate and imprison Sylvanas instead of killing her because we need her

Blizzard already said Sylvanas wouldn’t wind up in chains at the end of BFA.

  • Partial old world revamp: only unlocks after finishing the pre-quest for Age of Darkness; for new players it will be the same as live until they do the pre-quest at level 50

Press ‘X’ to doubt. Blizzard has already said they will revamp new zones ‘as it makes sense’, so…by partial revamp, are we talking about 8.0 Arathi or 4.0 Shattering?

  • Starting with Kalimdor: Un’Goro, Feralas, Desolace + Mulgore as new high level zones, Silithus will be the endgame zone akin to Suramar (?)

Okay, so 4.0 Shattering. Okay, Blizzard already said no.

  • Eastern Kingdom will be revamped later on with something special planned for Gilneas, Tirisfal and the Plaguelands (hint towards the Old God underneath Tirisfal?)

Nope. We uncovered the Old God underneath Tirisfal back in Legion. Plot Twist, it was Xalatath and a tumor boy.

  • Essence system unlocked at level 50: every class gets several new skill and traits from 50-60, similar to the Glyph system we once had; 5 sockets, 2 for passive traits, 2 for active skills and 1 ultimate ability

Highly doubt this. Wouldn’t be inherently opposed though.

  • Reshaping of the talent system: offensive and defensive talents per bracket at level 10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50; you can pick one offensive plus one defensive talent per bracket

Not gonna happen. Like…why? This is essentially just giving two separate talent trees, one for Defensives and another for Offensives. Also: where does Utility fall on this? Nope.

  • Conquest points (new max level leveling system): unlocked at level 60, account wide, different bonuses you can spend points on (more execute damage, higher run speed); once unlocked it’s available for all characters on the account that are at least level 10

No chance in hell. Conquest Points are a PvP currency or progression system. And…what even is this?

  • Release date planned for Q4/2020 but they want to polish this expansion so it might get delayed

Way no. Gonna release in Q3 2020 but may be released for Q4. What is this, TBC?

BfA’s ending:

  • 8.2.5 will introduce new heritage armor and new models

Yup. We were told this at Blizzcon. Worgen and Goblins.

  • Will deal mostly with factions and the aftermath of the events from Eternal Palace

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? No way. /s

  • Final patch 8.3 set in Mulgore

What gave that away, the Baine cutscene?

  • Centered around Sylvanas plan to attack Thunder Bluff

See above.

  • Mulgore will be turned into a new max level zone similar to Mechagon with ongoing progress and weekly unlocks, culminating in the attack on Thunder Bluff raid

Intriguing. But unlikely. Battlefield: Barrens 2: Electric Boogaloo.

  • Sylvanas is the final boss with Nathanos aiding her; Nathanos will be killed, Sylvanas will be severely wounded, captivated and imprisoned by her sisters Alleria and Vereesa

Nope.

  • Shortly before the fight is over N’zoth’s minions enter the battlefield and fight Sylvanas and us, everything turns dark (?)

Ahahahaha no.

  • No schedule for the patches yet as everything during BfA took longer than expected; plan is for 8.3 to be released this year yet it might not happen

I can actually see this. From my guess, we won’t be getting 8.2.5 until Q3, so 8.3 will be late Q4 or early Q1 2020.

  • Mechagnomes and Gilgoblins will be the last pair of allied races coming in 8.3(.5)

I doubt this. Can’t say much about Gilgoblins, but Mechagnomes can’t wear headpieces, pants, gloves, boots, or wrist slot items. In Operation: Mechagon, when these slots were needed to be filled, they used a regular gnome as a proxy.

  • Factions won’t merge / get removed , there will be some kind of neutrality and inter-factional group play / communication enabled (one of the reasons given is the huge discrepancy of Alliance vs. Horde on most realms and in the raiding community)

Wouldn’t be too shocked, honestly.

FINAL RESULTS

1.5/10, Didn’t even try.

If the tinkerer class is real, I don’t believe it would only have 2 specializations.

Ranged DPS
Medic style Healer
Mecha Armor Tank

Pretty simple concepts.

Also why would dwarves not be on the approved races?

Also Forsaken instead of say, Maghar/Orc.

Remember the Iron Horde?

Also Draenei. Draenei are artificers, not tinkers. Artificers are about blending magic and technology, a tinker, as presented in the leak, is purely technological. I doubt Draenei would get Tinker over Dwarves.

Not that I think Draenei shouldn’t get Tinker, but as presented in the leak I find it unlikely that they trump Dwarves.
