I’ve been running hyjal on all my cloth wearers. I’m trying to get the noose belt to drop. I cant even get cloth gear to drop. Seriously, is the way loot drops messed up right now or what? How many times am I going to get double of the same plate and mail items on my cloth wearing characters? The belt has like a 20% drop chance, it’s not like it’s some mount I’m grinding for. It’s personal loot right? If Im the only one in the instance shouldn’t it at least be cloth that drops?
I wouldn’t be here complaining if I’d only ran it once or twice, but it’s getting discouraging. If the system is busted just add it to the vendor outside the instance. I’d spend the gold or get the rep for it or both.
Something needs to be done or at least looked at.

It’s not broken, it’s just some of the older raids really suck for dropping loot. 20% isn’t exactly 20%. Each item on the loot table has an equal chance to drop. So it’s more like an 8.3% or something in Anetheron’s case.
It’s just that Hyjal only drops two pieces of gear per boss. And when bosses have decent sized loot tables it can take awhile to get what you want. It’s not personal loot though, everything on the loot table can drop. You just pray to the RNG gods.

no, it’s legacy loot.
if it was personal loot, you wouldn’t be getting anything you can’t equip.

Yup. That’s why the Karazhan raid’s Attumen mount is the rarest in the game. It’s actually integrated into the loot table rather than being a straight yes/no drop like Mimiron’s Head of Invincible.
Hyjal is painful to run too. So much standing around and waiting.

Grats, dude! My Bristleblitz Striker finally dropped for me today, as far as luck in the raid goes. I don’t know how many runs it was, but it feels good.
I ran the first couple bosses again, on my Warrior this time. Guess what didn’t drop… that’s right, plate gear. So I run it on mt cloth wearers and no cloth drops. I run it on my plate guy and no plate drops.

That is not how random chance works at all.
A coin has two sides, if i flip the coin there is a 50% chance it will land on heads. I flip the coin twice and both times it lands on tails. What is the chance it lands on heads on the 3rd flip? Remember It has a 50% chance and i already failed to get heads twice. So does that mean I now have a 100% chance to get heads on the 3rd flip? Obviously not because each time i flip he coin is an independent event that is not influenced by the previous events before it.
So if 5 items drop from the boss it rolls for what item 1 will be, it has a 20% chance. Then item 2, then 3, then 4, etc…The belt could literally never drop for you in 1000 clears and the chance of it dropping is still 20%.
Other than a few waves in Thrall’s base and a small break after a boss, it’s pretty quick. For Jaina’s base, just go stand where they spawn and throw out 1 aoe each time they spawn. They’ll pretty much immediately spawn the next wave.
The only part that sucks is when the Gargoyles attack in the Thralls’s base.

I had a similar problem in Ulduar.
Was farming the tier set for my warlock and one of the watchers dropped a pretty neat looking shield.
Once I finished the set I brought my warrior and paladins there and the shield has yet to drop again.
Ulduar is my bane. I’ve been trying to get literally any of those glowy two handed swords. I think there are 4 of them in the raid total? I haven’t gotten one.
Would really like the one from Vezex.
I have a few of the same 2hd weapons on both of my Warlocks for my fel guards to equip that i don’t have in the appearance tab.
A large majority of my mog farming has been on a Warrior or DK.

Legacy drops loot as if you were a full raid across all armor and weapon types.
I have yet to see that option when I do my farming runs. Where is it hidden?
Triggers automatically if you are out level the content by 11 levels or more.
