The thought of trudging through to 120 on another character is just … Repulsive. It feels like such a slog now for some reason, even with the bonus XP and artifacts.
I have no idea how some people do it, and then they grind out max level for each of their essences, and grind out 475 Azzawite Gear, and then do Corruptions until they have some kinda meta mixture…
It’s just… Not fun.
And for some reason every character feels weaker the more they level.
How do you do it?!

I don’t. Wait for Shadowlands. Leveling will be 100x better.

These days I just stop at 110.

110, when you somehow feel the strongest the character will ever be… It’s weird.

sometimes seems like the only thing i like doing leveling is queueing for random BGs… but I lag too much sometimes so that’s miserable too… oh well.

same i woke up this morning trying to level a new hunter got to lvl 15 and was like MEH… it just feels so damn slow no matter what i do. slow/boring.
i play a game same issue though we got more lvls then WOW 275 and leveling is fast too but after you hit lvl 110 in just 1 day it just feels boring. i think it’s because it doesn’t feel rewarding at all. it’s not like classic hell im happy to get 1 level even though im only lvl 5. feels like i worked for it but in retail not so much.
i do have a 110 hunter i leveled back in WoD i deleted likely just going to revive that and then learn to play it versus just leveling a new one. save more time.

After Vanilla end game never appealed to me except for the stories and the mounts. I am a patient boy so I can wait until I can solo them to do them at a later date.
So I get my mains gear up to a respectable level and then work on alts.
I always read that this is a very alt unfriendly expansion but it is the first one I was able to level every alt to 120 that I wanted too. The bulk during Korrak’s and the remainder during the current bonus.
I have existing alts left and then one I am making to level w/ my wife’s horde guy once we finish leveling her Worgen.
The last 4 after that will be leveled in Shadowlands.

I’m done leveling till pre-patch, which is when the level changes should be coming.
It’ll be incredibly faster and getting to go to Pandaria at level 10 sounds great.

At that point it’s gunna be like taking a vacation to somewhere nice for an expansion worth of story.
“Oh I went to Pandaria and enjoyed the lush vibrant scenery and gorgeous music, then I died and came to Deathland.”
Maybe if they hadn’t disabled artifacts. But artifacts are only needed for certain class quests. The heirloom weapon is better.
A 217 BfA staff is better than a 263 artifact with much better stats.
It’s almost as though they intentionally turned leveling into a long boring grindfest, then had to back off on the “long” because so many people hated the change. It’s still a boring, pointless grindfest though. Removing all feeling of progression was a mistake that turned it into hazing.

I deleted a ton of old characters that I boosted outta boredom in legion, because I wanted to try new classes that weren’t druid…
But I felt guilty I didn’t put the work in.
Yeah, now I am restoring them cause heck that.
I always go back to druid.
Simple:
Immersion & mog collection,
Therefore I won’t allow the grind to take the jam out of my donut
Sounds counterintuitive, but: I take my sweet time with leveling. Read the quests. Stop to take in the scenery of each zone. It also probably helps that I’m big on mounts and mogs because there’s always a new one to find. Sometimes I stop leveling and just pretend to be living a different life in another world. That’s why I play games like these in the first place.
I guess because I’m so slow, I haven’t played through each zone 16 thousand times yet, but it still hasn’t lost the fun for me.

I have every class at 110, with most at 120 by now.
Even if I enjoyed leveling (I largely don’t, not in WoW, not for a long time), I’m at a point where doing anything but leveling a character that last bit thru the current expansion would be a literal waste of time. Why start from scratch for classes I already have leveled?
I’ve kinda hit this point in most of the MMOs I play (WoW, BDO, FFXIV, GW2 quite awhile ago) and it makes me sad, because even if leveling isn’t my favorite thing, I like having that as a fallback if I need a change of pace, and at this point I don’t really have it anymore.
(and yes, I’m aware I’m allowed to level duplicates, but my mindset just won’t let me “waste” time like that)

I’ve got good news. You won’t need to level to 120 once Shadowlands comes out, and you can level 1-50 in (under) a single expansion’s worth of quests.
By taking advantage of rested xp, the bonus, and xp pots. Grab Azeroth Autopilot and zip right on through it.

Honestly they should increase the bonus XP to 200% even with the 100% it feels like a slow boring grind. Double it and I’ll level a bunch more alts and keep subbed during this no new content till prepatch phase. It’s taking speed runners just over 4 hours to level in the alpha give us the ability to do that even if you just increase the heirlooms XP bonus so those who don’t want it fast just don’t wear heirlooms.
