what kind of fruit/vegetable combos should i put in there, to enjoy as a nice beverage as i play WoW?
…I suddenly want you to try and juice a banana. DON’T ACTUALLY TRY IT. But uhhh…juice some strawberries, add just a pinch of sugar, and you have like the best drink ever.
Eggplant and lemon. Do it.
I love mango with strawberries. At Costco they have huge bags of different blends. I tried kiwi once but to many seeds. Pineapple is good also.
I got a little concoction that not only good for you, but it tastes and smells … and sounds amazing! Yes. He said sounds.
Strawberry, banana, Elf ear and blueberries.
don’t assume that the ears aren’t still on the Elf when you blend them. There’s no fresher Elf ear than the ones still attached.
your too late, my mother was way to excited to try juicing things, so our first drink had banana… even though i told her it was a bad idea. was sort’ve like a smoothie afterwards.
btw, all good ideas so-far folks!
Go V8 route with carrot, tomato, beets, apple, pineapple, peach, mango, and blueberries.
Anything a recipe says, don’t just drop whatever you feel like, it will taste like crap most of the time.
Just one word of warning about juicers: it’s a great investment, I absolutely love mine. just be aware that the juicer removes most of, if not all, the pulp/fibre in the fruit.
This means that you’re left with something that is still relatively high in sugar.
Regardless of the source, sugar is sugar in the end.
So don’t go too overboard drinking fruit juices made this way.
Enjoy the machine!!
My favourite blend was Granny Smith apples with carrots.
Durian.
Just durian.
Juiced strawberries are pretty horrible, unless you grow your own. They did a study recently that showed you could juice strawberries and spray your crops with them and it’s basically pesticide. Washing/soaking the berries doesn’t remove nearly enough of the pesticides you would expect it would.
celery + green apple
carrot + orange/tangerine
Cranberry, grape, and just a little apple comes out really nice. Just go easy on the apple or it will overpower the other two.
Something like 45-45-10 is what you’re shooting for.
Citation needed. I’m genuinely curious about this.
Congrats on the juicer op!
Depends on if you’re looking for sugar drink or healthy green drink. Carrots are usually the main base for green drinks and frzn berries for other healthy drinks. Usually almond milk or cashew nutmilk are nice bases as well with berries. One is with frzn rasberries, Freeze a couple half bananas to have on hand. Agave nectar. frzn rasberries, half banana (frzn) and cashew nutmilk.
Bags of frzn berries, usually a 1/2 cup, some almond milk (some people like to add peanut butter) tablespoon of chia seeds and rice/pea powder, and maybe some flax seed oil. walah, protein shake.
Green apple is nice sometimes with a bit of cucumber and lemon, kale, and a tiny bit of ginger for some zing to it.
Remember, you have to use a lot of fruit or veggie for the juice. If you garden the leftovers are nice for compost or some for soup broths or bases for cooking.
Carrot, orange, green apple, lemon, ginger, and a pinch of cayenne - nice morning wake up call!
Beet, ginger, orange, celery, and green apple.
Super healthy, parsley, spinach, kale, celery, cucumber lemon and red apple.
Look some of these up for how much or little you need.
Strawberry, pineapple (remember all frzn) coconut water, and agave to taste.
You want that pina colada flavor: vanilla powder base, banana, pineapple and coconut milk.
Protein powders (vanilla makes a nice base), mixed fruit, a bit of cashew or almond milk.
Game on. Tons of sites with recipes. I juiced for a long while, but got tired of the mess and cleaning the juicer. Some people stick with it. Most of those can be done in a blender. Still have to cut and chop into smaller portions when adding the harder vegies.
Use organic whenever you can or wash in sink.
Good Luck! Once you get the hang of some bases you can experiment on your own.
Our grains are genetically modified. Our veggies have a fraction of the nutrition they used to have. Pretty much anything commercially grown is coated in pesticide. Just about any food (even some surprising things) has sugar added to it.
The health and obesity epidemic in the west is 100% our food.
Finger lickin’ good.
I make strawberry/raspberry smoothies all the time
I use pesticide as breath spray.
Just simple apples makes for an amazing juice, with a very small portion of lemon juiced with it too.
Mixed berries is always yummy
