I just don't get it. (Dragonflight Alpha)

They should not even have alphas or betas. It ruins all the surprises.

If the alpha was all about promotions and stuff like that then why even change the talent tree and go through the hassle of listening to feedback and implementing changes and being proactive in terms of listening to the community as a whole.

There is already boat loads of blue post of feedback changes and communication from developers themselves. If this was all about promotion then why even listen and making iterations and changes to the talent tree and dragon riding and stuff in Dragonflight Alpha.

Wow, 2007, I’m super impressed.

You’ll never get one because you’re guaranteed income.

Plus you’re not a streamer or someone important enough to get free advertisement.

They know you’ll buy and stay subscribed.

Alpha is only for like employees and streamers lol… iv been playing since 2006 and iv gotten into every beta

But it’s not. I got an invite to alpha for BFA. Other people in this very thread have also made similar statements. It’s just that so few of us regular folks get into alpha that you don’t hear about it as much. A quick glance at the current Alpha section of the forums will show you that much.

And how long have you been playing just wondering

I’m kind of with you. There are a lot of folks out there that could share some insights into vsrious aspects of the Alphas, but can’t because of X or Y reasons. It does suck when you want to participate, but feels like your opinion doesn’t matter.

Typically I get into the Beta tests. I never say I always do or know that I am, cause there is always that chance that I don’t. When I do get in, I treat it like a job. I have a schedule that I keep (this day from this time to this time and so forth), I always check out what needs testing and use that as the primary “what I should be doing and what not”, then go from there.

Most of the time, I do level a lot of characters cause that is what we will be doing the first few weeks of the expansion. I’d say I level each class twice with or without groups, depending if my friends get in or not. I find that to be very helpful to folks: aiming to make leveling enjoyable.

I also fill out a lot of tickets. Literally every little annoyance, bug, road block, quest text issue, quest zone problems, gathering node oddities, suggestions, you name it. So that whole 8 hour leveling turns into a 12-14 hour leveling sometimes. There are times when I take 3 characters through the same quest back to back to just make sure I didn’t miss something with a bug.

Yet… after 18 years, never missing a month since launch, leveling countless characters to max level, participating in every raid, playing nearly every PTR, bla bla bla… I still can’t be guaranteed an Alpha or Beta invite. Yeah it is a little sickening at times. I feel your pain OP. I do wish I could be a Streamer, but it’s not my personality type and I’m not good looking. But I do wish my voice could be heard at times. Just sucks that it’s all about “who you know…”

Well why would that matter when you just said the only people that get in are employees and streamers?

Since it doesn’t matter either way, longer than you.

L O L, sure thing champ

Well since your oldest achive says 2013 i dont think its longer than me lol

Going to be frank, and also as someone who has played multiple accounts since 2007… Actually you don’t do a lot of that… no mythic, a couple of dungeons this expansion… Your glory of Ulduar is this year. You do nothing really with non-combat pets, even your PVP that you say you concentrate on is only 33% completed. and other than one recent achievement in august, and one in may of this year your prior achievements were 2020, 2017, 2012… You have 10 reputations to exalted. You’ve done minimal world events… I mean seriously… You can see it all in your achievements. You’re not a well rounded player.

What exactly would you bring to an alpha test? You want them to pick you, you need to make them want to pick you.

Edit: Oh and I’m not saying I’m any better, I’m just not expecting to be part of alpha.

Well since I’ve been on this same account (just not this character) since May of 2005, I’d say you’re wrong.

Don’t feed em. They’re just here for gotcha moments. They have zero insight on who get’s invited. Won’t be productive to give them any more of our time.

Cute! You should check my achievements! They go back as far as achievements go, which is several years before 2013.

No no, you have had zero insight. You and your pal shared something that was incorrect and a statement was made to correct it. It’s hardly my fault that neither of you are mature enough to accept being wrong.

Maturity? I just saw you switch over to your main account to show that you had slightly more acheezment points. Super mature.

You didn’t try to further the conversation, you didn’t discuss why you might have gotten in, you just wanted to get your little gotcha moment. Kudos, you are award 1 internet point.

I switched to an alt because someone said I’ve only been playing since 2013. Achievement points have nothing to do with anything. The age of the achievements were the only thing I was trying to show.

An incorrect statement was made, and I countered it. So sorry you couldn’t handle it. :man_shrugging:t2:

I’ve been here since 08. Never left. I too have never been invited to an alpha. I take solace knowing I’ll get to beta test when it goes live along with the rest of you.
