Simple how long you’ve played doesn’t mean you’re entitled to any special privileges. Which is exactly what you’re asking for.
That really seems more Beta than alpha to me.
Maybe they’re trying to get different demographics or people with certain backgrounds in testing. We don’t know why they chose whom they chose.
Like I said, it’s a privilege and nobody is owed it
Youtubers with 10k subs are even in the Alpha… So promoting the game isnt really the play here…
Maybe they appealed to chinese media somehow.
Again, I never said I’m owed. I said it’s a little unfair that a LOT of people who have 10+ years of sub haven’t really ever gotten an alpha or beta, and I feel like that would be more Alpha because we have been playing the game long enough to get a feel for how things should be played out and work. If you read another reply I made, I said I feel like the people who’ve been playing for around 10+ years should get a separate wave of alpha invites random to only those then another wave for everyone.
How did you manage to pull this off having played and maintained an account for so long?

No it’s not.

Those two seem a bit at odds with each other.
I’m sorry for your disappointment
Busted.

Let us in! I want to play with the new talent trees
Fair, I don’t really go for stuff like that though I mainly just PvP end game and level all classes, stopped raiding a few expacs ago and I took a break with WoD
Nope not going to happen. I won’t allow it!
Actually, regular players do get into Alphas.
I was invited into the alpha for Legion. I am not a streamer, and sure dont know
anyone at Blizzard.
Make sure you are opted in. And also a bunch of stuff doesn’t work. It’s sort of nice to not be a part of it sometimes if you don’t spoil yourself.
This is completely false as I had Alpha assess to BFA and I’m nobody. It’s just that so few nobodies get into Alpha that you don’t hear about it often, but I’ve spoken to others just like me.
As for the OP, I’ve played longer than you and been invited to test so many expansions I’ve tested more than I haven’t. It’s RNG just like everything else when it comes to the regular folks like us.
What’s your idea of a regular player?
Yeah, sure, these always get in, but there’s plenty of others as well.
how is it busted? lol just go look at my legacy achievements
So here’s the reality OP:
Customer loyalty means nothing for getting into alpha or beta. Your just a walking wallet to them.
Here’s also how these tests often work:
There’s 3 groups of people who get in.
- The content creator - for hype and showing off gameplay to make others buy it causr they saw the content creator’s videos/streams. Free publicity.
- The family member or close friend - they get access because they are close to a dev.
- The normal WoW player - were 1 in a million.
And because were 1 in a million, they do NOT need 1 million testers - this is not DF live. Let’s say they have 50,000 spots open on alpha - and the sub count is 1.5m active players - they will only 50,000 players, and most will never get in. It’s limited spots and luck of the draw for us “normies”. Same thing for beta, your lucky to even see beta if at all.
They did this for buying pandaria CE. They regretted it instantly. They didn’t get testers who reported bugs, they got players who treated it like "early access’.
Alpha access is a request. It’s not some sort of reward. The reason many get invited is a test to see how particular systems work with the new systems, and if yours is well represented they don’t need you.
Do you report bugs often in the live game?
People who are frequently run the PTR and are reporting bugs tend to also get in as well.
