I just ate a Pomegranite for the first time in my life

It was incredible.

I didn’t know what I was doing and just hacked it in half only to see the juice run out a bit onto the plate and some seeds fall out. I was annoyed that there were so many seeds but I pried them out and then attacked the white pulp inside the fruit and it was bitterly disgusting. I then munched on one of the seeds and it was super delicious. I wasn’t exactly sure if I was supposed to eat the seeds or not. So I went to the internet and looked up how to eat them and discovered that when eating a Pomegranite, you are in fact eating the seeds that are buried inside their juicy little shells. What an amazingly awesome fruit. And so messy.

I’m pretty happy.

Anyone try anything new today?

Does your mother know where you are?

How many did you eat?

Just one. I’m still eating it; gently prying out the seeds a few at a time with a spoon. This thing squirts everywhere.

I’m 35, and mother’s been gone for 13 years sadly.

But at least I have my Pomegranite.

I used to love those as a kid - and yes they are very messy  Enjoy!

Cut in half, turn it over and thump the back. That will knock out the seeds. They are great in salads.

They’re incredible! I’ve been trying some new fruit this month and I’m shocked at how great they are. It’s kind of nice that it’s taking forever to strip the thing of its goodness -this will make a great snack for when Classic is released.

I always saw the little Pom bottles at the store but refrained from buying them since they are outrageously expensive. Also it is alot healthier to eat fruit rather than just the juice.

You are still young, but those are good for your heart. Healthy eating habits best when formed early.

I love Mangos. They’ve got such a refreshing smell and it’s great fun to just bury you face in one.

I thought it was allergic to apples but then I tried cherries. Oh my God. Then I thought I was allergic to cherries and I tried pomegranate. Almost went to the hospital.

I disagree. pomegranates take a lot of time and effort to properly prepare them. to much time out of classic time.

I will agree that they are a top notch snack for patch days.

Pomegranates are such weird, delicious fruit. I keep eyeing them up at the supermarket but they’re like $5 each at the mo cause they’re not in season currently. :frowning:
What other new fruit have you tried?

There are places you can buy them as just the fresh seed pods.

ah well enjoy your time in Hades

Blackberries, Cara Cara Oranges, and Honeycrisp Apples. Everything was really good, but I was hoping the oranges would taste just a tad bit more grapefruity but it’s okay. The Blackberries were not exactly sweet or tart, but they were super juicy and just sort of melted in my mouth almost like a liquid gummybear. The Apples were some of the best I’ve ever had, but I’m worried they are too sweet.

Blackberries are bomb. It’s the perfect time of year to go pick them right now, you can get several quarts in under an hour where I live. If you liked honeycrisp apples but found them just too sweet, give pink ladies a shot. Everybody raves about honeycrisp but I like something a tad more sour. Pink lady all the way.

I can’t say I’ve ever heard of those kind of oranges but I find blackberries super moreish. The kind you get from those berry picking places are like next tier level tasty.
Have you tried braeburn apples? They’re pretty damn good. Very crisp with a great mix of sweet and tart. I really recommend them if you find honeycrisp a bit too sweet.

I’m going to drive my grandmother to the store tomorrow, so I’ll be sure to pick up a ton of blackberries. What I liked best about the Honeycrisp was how …crisp it was. But yes, a tad sweet. I’ll try some of the other apples mentioned.

Edit: I think my Pomegranite is out of season, as the seeds and their enclosures were not much larger than kernals of corn. The ones I saw on Youtube looked very robust compared to mine. I’m still probablyl going to buy one or two more though.

The Cara Cara as per Wiki: _ This medium sized navel is seedless, sweet and low in acid and characterized by little to no pith and easy, clean separation from the rind. The flavor is more complex than most navel varieties and has been described as evoking notes of cherry, rose petal, and blackberry. Unlike true blood oranges, where the main pigmentation is due to anthocyanins, pigmentation in Cara Cara is due to carotenoids such as lycopene. _

Try Dragonfruit. They make a nice cocktail.
