I hope Tyralyon takes the throne

This is something I’d rather see to be honest.

We come back from the Shadowlands, time has passed, and the world is actually at a good place. Turalyon turned out to be a pretty damned good regent; set Stormwind’s lands in order, reinforced peace with the Horde opening up new avenues of trade, restored Gilneas and fortified Stromgarde, negotiated with Faol and the Forsaken to allow the living and undead to reunite more frequently to the point they shared Lordaeron under Forsaken rule, etc…

Anduin and the rest come back and people look at Anduin and cringe. “Oh man, that’s the little boy who was so horribly at war we were drafting farmers… do we really need to have him back?”

Of course the answer is yes. I imagine it’ll be around this time AU Yrel and Xe’ra show up and Lightbound Turalyon and make him a puppet. The man’s got, “Raid Boss in Light is Bad Expansion,” written all over him, sadly.

But Anduin’s personality would be to abdicate.

Oh I imagine so. We’ll see a rehash of the Thrall storyline. Anduin steps down to let everyone’s favorite person lead instead while he goes off to find himself after the events of the Shadowlands. When it comes time to rebel against the tyranny of the Light Mother, we’ll go back and beg him for help, the way Horde players had to go beg Thrall.

Because they didn’t make their own faction

We have the following set ups:

Yrel
Allerias visions of being at war with those she cared for.
The scarlet crusades claim to the true heir of Lorderon.
Aduin death knighted up.
The writing staff that likes to have strong female leads snapp, the rebound then snapp again. Has their hands on a char that has only snapped once.
A guy that was possessed by the light. That could be so again with the help of Yrel.
And a Horde that deserves a break from its leaders drama.

Incoming: A long Idea of What I think could make an interesting Expansion.

While we have been toiling away in the Shadowlands trying to save the machine of death, In the absence of our Faction Leaders, the Order of the Light has arisen. Initially they stamped down and rid the undead scourge, released when the helm was shattered, from Azeroth. Bolstered by their success, and the conviction of their faith they believed themselves the saviors of Azeroth. They began to preach that Azeroth’s leaders and Heroes had abandoned Azeroth and the Light to serve death. A resurected Yrel, Calia and Turalyon have spearheaded the fanatical devotion to the Light throughout Azeroth. They have spread their influence far and wide, largely taking control of all of Azeroth. Believing in supreme devotion to the light and to renounce all other beliefs, The Order of the Light rules with and iron fist. Imprisoning, banishing and “Purifying” any dissent or disobedience.

All capital cities in Azeroth are now under control of the Order of the Light. They patrol the streets as the Army of the Faithful. Subjugating the citizens to follow their beliefs. The cities are all hostile to us when we return. Towns like gadgetzan and booty bay, are also under control of the Order of the Light. The goblins have been driven out, and taken their Black Market dealings to large city ships, which move around the coasts of the continents. (These are our new main cities for the expansion. They have Class and profession halls. Auction and Banking ect.) We must learn more of the Order of the Light. We need to infiltrate our cities and discover what the order is up to. (The new 5man dungeons are infiltration missions through our cities and towns.)

Azeroth’s citizens, lacking guidance and leadership from their leaders. The absence of the Heroes of Azeroth (Us). Have turned to the Order of Light for guidance. Some follow in blind faith. Others follow in fear. Small groups of resistance operate in secret hoping to join and help the resistance.

The bulk of the old zones would be changed for the expac. Not completely redesigned. The Order of Light has forced not only Azeroth’s citizens to flee, but changed the natural order of zones. Zones surrounding the capital cities, are areas where The Order of the Light are building their army and training their troops. Also having encampments where they “Educate” non-believers. Further out zones, have seen the creatures of Azeroth flee to. Centaurs, Ogres, Gnolls, Murlocks have all formed their strongholds in other zones. Due to the tyranny of the Order of The Light, tribes have formed together and now are a threat to us. Many of the Old zones have changed to reflect this, and are now threatening and dangerous to us. But there is something different about how strong these foes have gotten. Something unnatural about their increased intelligence, and strength. Becoming united and now an actual threat within their new found zones doesnt add up.

We return from the Shadowlands expecting to be lauded as heroes as usual. Instead we are captured and imprisoned by The Order of The Light. We are taken before The leaders of The Order and Yrel purges us of the taint of the shadowlands. (Inevitable Removal of the Covenant Abilities and Soulbind Systems). We are then thrown into prison. En-route to an “Education Camp” some resistance fighters attempt to free us. We fight our way free and flee with them. We then make it to One of the 2 or 3 Giant Booty Bay/Goblin Ships off shore and begin to learn about what truly has happened. From here we must form a guerilla fighting force to battle the Order of The Light. Venture into zones to discover what is behind the changes to the lesser beings of Azeroth. Infiltrate our capital cities, to learn what The Order of Light really is. Discover disturbing secrets and practices of their “Education Camps”.

And This is potentially the point where the factions barrier is dissolved. As currently the only faction divide in the shadowlands is the arbitrary one. We have been working together the entire time.

Turalyon is a zealot of the Light and a noble of Lordaeron. He should be looking to the old kingdoms that made up the 7 Kingdoms of Arator, eradicating the Scarlet Crusade, and rebuilding Lordaeron (possibly even moving the alliance capital there). It would also make some sense for him to try to re-establish the House of Menethil. This would cause at least some concern for the Horde with Silvermoon being where it is.

It’s time to revisit Silvermoon, the Scarlet Crusade, and all the lore involved in that part of the world. Many players want the story to return to a more Azeroth centric mode and this would be a very good way to do just that. But of course I don’t think the Lead Narrative (whose name I can’t even mention apparently without receiving a 24 hour silence) has yet to show any ability to weave existing lore into a coherent, consistent story without retcon after retcon.

This is the best take I’ve read in here.

Turalyon is not of royal lineage, is he? If not, and he “takes” the throne, that would make him a usurper.

I mean he seemed to be alright with a demon knife ear killing his chandelier. So I don’t think he cares about the impure races.

He temporarily is I think at least.
They need to act on the alleria/turalyon tyranny that was hinted at in a vision or whatever. Then give the Horde a rest and cause some inner conflicts with the Alliance.

Turalyon and Yrel making a crusade for the light in Azeroth would be neat!

I never said he was of royal lineage, he is of Lordaeron nobility.

With Turalyon as Regent of SW and defacto leader of the Alliance, any move to re-establish the House of Menethil would cause huge unrest with the Stormwind nobility as they would see this as a challenge to their power. If Tyriel were to somehow phase into this timeline and work with Turalyon to cause a Light crusade on Azeroth it would undoubtedly cause friction in the Alliance as well given Alleria and the Void Elves. Any Light aggression within the Alliance against the Void Elves could be the final straw for Tyrande to unite the elves and pull them all from the Alliance.

The Horde could take advantage of all of this of course. With Alliance attention on Lordaeron, the old Northern Kingdoms, and possible outright civil war between Alliance and Elves, the Horde would have no choice but to give Silvermoon the attention its been lacking for the last 14 years to prevent an Alliance aggression against it.

There you have it: tons of content, all lore based on Azeroth, and a new reason for faction war instead of the same old tired Horde vs Alliance because of reasons.

And of course if there were a Light crusade on Azeroth Tyriel and Turalyon would have their eyes dead set on capturing the Sunwell since it became Light infused at the end of the SWP raid.

Why would you want someone who’s been away from Azeroth for like 100 years and has no clue about anything going on?

Do you want to lose a war? Because having a clueless leader is how you do that

I was hoping to push in the little bit I saw somewhere that Alleria was interrogating I think people with the void. I think you bring up good lore points. Personally they can finally do something that can move back into the warcraft feel of things, give alliance some conflict and not make the damn thing about sylvannas again lol

1000 years to be exact.

Because he is a zealot of the Light, he needs no other reason. That’s what zealots do.

And for content.

Why would he? lol his own wife is a void thing, he doesn’t give a f.
