I hope the intro cinematic for the patch

Wows me or gives me those goosebumps of excitement. You know if you played back in wrath and that final patch raid intro. “Let them come… Frostmourne hungers.”. The music the entire thing got you pumped up and chills and excitement to get into there.

Telling myself if I dont get that kind of reaction to this next season then in all likelihood of my 18 years on wow… Then I am not playing because I care or am interested in the story.

If I feel nothing then its likely time to put the game down and return another time?

Idk. When was the last raid intro cinematic or heck even the big expansion cinematic that gave you the body chills and goosebumps of “Hell yeah let’s do this!”?

Not really felt that this expansion, or the last one. Maybe I just dont have any interest in the characters.
BFA was the last time from all the old soldier cinematics to the daughter of the sea.

There are very few things in this world that can give you the goosebumps you originally had back in the day when the game was brand new and everything kept you on the edge of your seat. The team that assembled all of those things no longer exists. The company that made all of that happen no longer exists. Blizzard has not been blizzard for a very long time. Even for all the hate it got during its Activision years. It was still a much better product. I keep playing because I enjoy the game and not because I have great expectations of the past coming back to revisit the future. If all of your hopes and dreams are pinned on a cinematic, you might as well uninstall now Because the next thread you will make is the one how you were very letdown and there was no hype and no goosebumps. :green_heart:

Curb your hopes.
The current team doesn’t know what’s cool.

Nothing will ever feel like the first hit again.

It’s gonna be the Purple Feet Lady doing nothing as usual just smiling and talking with her evil voice.

Then the Ethereal saying stuff like ‘‘WE MUST STOP HER’’

Then Alleria saying ‘’ I must put an end to this’’

Then Anduin saying to Alleria ‘’’ We are family, you are not alone’’

-End-

They don’t generally make unique cinematics for patches. We just get a trailer montage of scenes that happen during the patch.

Did they release any K’aresh teasers on Twitter? I haven’t really been on there since before Undermine launched.

What, you mean something as good as this

Pretty sure this more or less is the “intro cinematic”… or at least, it may as well be at this stage.

It does not inspire any confidence.
More like generalized apathy, maybe a hint of revulsion.

It’s a bit funny, a fluke with the timing, but my subscription is going to be active long enough to get a chance to try the first week of the new patch. However, I think I’ll just be ignoring it.

I’ll probably watch the end-of-raid cinematic on YouTube, just to see how laughably bad it is.

… meh, ignoring the cheesy animations (let’s be honest, my pick below isn’t much better). But the voice-over is trying too hard to be edgy.

My personal favourite for the WoW patch trailers is 5.2:

And it’s mostly because of the voice-over, which gives it an air of gravitas that WoW often lacks.

IMO, the most recent good expansion cinematic was the one for BFA. It really got me excited to go to war with the Alliance.

Sigh, more of the same.

The gold standard still has to be Gods of Zul’Aman.

They can’t make this kind of content anymore
you should get used to:

  • cringe laughter
  • villain flying away cliffhanger

Haven’t we seen this exact line multiple times already?

Don’t remember where, but I feel like I heard this with Sylvanas in SL?

Possibly, I skipped SL and haven’t really gone back to get many details. I just find the whole situation to be a bit like a demon prince saying they aren’t asking you to trust satan, but to trust them.

And then us actually doing it.

It’s just so obvious it’s going to bite us in the backside and end up furthering Xal’atath’s 5d chess game.

Found it.

Uther: Sylvanas held the mournblade that bound him. Her presence may help free Anduin from the Jailor’s grasp.

Jaina: I will never trust her!

Uther: Then Trust in me.

Jaina: Always Uther.
