The developers aren’t reading all the negative crap that people are posting on here. The way some people portray themselves online is embarrassing. Bottom line, so far this new world and all that comes with it is pretty incredible. I feel a lot of Everquest nostalgia. The colors, the world, the characters, all feel familiar.
The launch wasn’t perfect, but I think we all expected there would be issues with so many moving parts. You can 100% tell a lot of work went into this expansion. Truly incredible. Imagine, just for a second, you went to work, pouring your heart and soul into a project and then everyone tells you how horrible you are and how bad you did. Disgusting…
Use the in game feedback tool. Constructive criticism goes a long way. I have had my own issues with this company, but that doesn’t change how much I appreciate the passion and hard work that went into this project. I was only able to play for a few hours due to world servers down and lag. I was frustrated, but more than anything, I could feel the tension and crazy anxiety the developers and wow team must have felt and are currently feeling to get this right.
I doubt many read this far, but just remember, there are REAL people behind all these pixels, and they are working hard for all of us. Lunch costs more than a month’s subscription to World of Warcraft.
Hopefully, they are not on these forums, reading all this negativity, but if they are… Thank you so much for all your hard work. Having mental health issues from years of trauma as a child and in my career, I have little chance to escape the mental and physical pain I feel daily. This is exactly the escape I needed at a time I needed it. Thank you.
They probably ignore the forums at the start of every expansion. GD is filled with the same trolls complaining about every aspect of the game (without providing any context, of course).
I don’t think those who complain forget that there are real people developing these games… I think they enjoy trying to make others feel bad. Most likely because they’re unhappy with themselves, and have to lash out when a game doesn’t capture the same nostalgia it once did for them.
yeah I think people who complain forget this is a giant corporation, which is run by C-suite execs, who are beholden to the share holders and the board. Like I would love a wow that took 10 years to develop an expansion because the pace and the pay for all the employees was amazing, but unfortunately we gotta keep that capital coming in.
If companies didn’t favor short term profits over long term customer building, some of this stuff wouldn’t be an issue.
People act like the forces that probably actually cause these issues of time/money/resources are the employees, when in reality is profits and budgets.
Its pretty much all we can expect from game companies sadly. I do feel like they were able to do some cool stuff within that framework for this xpac, and I hope it continues.
