I honestly don't get why dracthyr don't just get built in dragon riding

Druid flight form works like fully functional flying mount (better actually), and that’s fine. Worgen running wild works as a fully functional ground mount, and that’s fine. Why not just give dracthyr the fully functional new flying built in? Have them upgrade it just like how non-dracthyr upgrade their dragon riding mounts. And if they want to ride a dragon riding mount they can.

It’s certainly better than giving them a nerfed dragon riding racial that’s pointless in DF and will be pointless outside of DF if dragon riding is expanded in the future. And, I mean, how would it hurt anything? ‘Oh, they can fly faster in old content,’ Who cares? It’s old content. And we’ll all probably be able to do it in a couple years anyway.

I Frankly can not imagine they develop this new & improved flying just to leave it in Dragonflight and forget about it entirely.

Especially if you believe some of the rumors that 11.0 is going to be a World Revamp; that seems like the perfect oppurtunity to rebuild the world around the new flying.

I am with you on this, it is so stupid, they should BE the mount. If they are truly dragons they should be able to fly, IMO of course.

“Dracthyr will get a base form of dragon riding.”

Implied that they’d be able to use it whenever, as fast as it can go, but just not upgrade it. Instead we get a slower one on CD because ‘It would give advantages in irrelevant content’.

It’s so stupid. One day when I have the energy I just wanna go into all the ways Dracthyr specifically miss the fantasy of what makes WoW dragons fun.

That is the endgame solution to the “Soar” controversy.

Make dragonriding available everywhere, and simply make Soar a cosmetic option for it (subject to all the same perks and limitations).

I know dracthyr get there own version of dragon riding they can do anywhere. but I really wish they had some kind of option to be able to fly like any other flying mount

Right? Flight Form goes full mount speed. Running Wild goes full mount speed. Imagine if Fight Form and Running Wild didn’t go full mount speed. What would even be the point? Soar is like giving dracthyr Zen Flight. Just give them full dragon riding. Why are they so worried about obsolete content?

Someone put it really well in the Alpha Feedback forums.

Blizzard keeps trying to control problems that don’t exist.

I hate agreeing with Asmon but when he’s 100% right he’s 100% right.

The reason is clearly because the xpac offers very, very, very, very, very little. If Dracthyr could skip dragonriding customizations…what else would they do?
.
Yeah, quest…
.
Blizz needs everyone on the Dragonriding customization rep grind…because there isnt much else.

I agree, Soar should be only a cosmetic dragonriding, available in any area dragonriding is. People will still show off their rare, hard-to-get, or favorite mounts/customizations of their drakes. Afterall, it doesn’t stop worgen or druids. As a cosmetic option as well, they still engage with the rep/vigor/glyph grind system, since they want to upgrade the tree.

I admit I’d love to see a cosmetic normal flying option too, since all the animations are there and I highly doubt normal flying is going away.

The soar situation is dumb. I’ve never seen the community be so universally in favor of something before.

But blizzard decided that they knew better, and not only dug in their heels, but decided to make it worse.

It doesn’t need to be a racial separate from dragonriding, it should just be a racial mount that works with the system. Like running wild. Players have wanted to “fly themselves” forever, and while we wished they’d done it with DH, this is their 2nd chance to actually let us do it.

Well, if you saw a naked human wearing a saddle, would you know the first thing about how to ride him to the Dollar General?

More confusing is how we have been riding dragons and drakes for roughly a decade and now we have to relearn how to do it again.
