Yes i know, somebody will go “Oh XBari720, yous an xbox phanboi! you liking that halo that Fil Spender given you with that Xbox 1440p cuz you a loyal customer to the blockbuster equivalent of gaming.”
Maybe it’s because i’ve never own a playstation past the second one, or that a lot of the games are all just essentially The Getaway but mindlessly easy to a point where FF16 is a literal one button frenzy, they actually designed a controller for it.
The controller and FF16 bit is a joke.
…or that my first impressions of this service were negative because Sony made an inferior product back in the day and it kind of stuck with me ever since.
Granted, i did left all the console gaming behind to become a PC only player after the xbox 360, but GP is on PC natively.
While on my time on twitter, i’ve seen a few of the PS fanboys talk so much about how great PS Plus is or how much better it is and such, and looking into it without spending money to it (Because i don’t feel like being goaded out of my money before knowing what i’m getting into), i’ve looked into the list of features it has from the proverbial horse’s mouth itself, Sony at Playstation.com.
Now i’m only going over a few select things that are exclusive with PS Plus in what i think is good and what isn’t, because both PS plus and Gamepass share simular pros and cons.
- Share Play: Why do i need to pay for couch-coop?
- Game trials: So trying out a limited section of games with limited amount of time? Yeah no thanks. Especailly since they done Hogwarts Legacy dirty by giving it 45 minutes.
- Ubisoft Classics: I love Far Cry and a bit of Assassin’s Creed, but it’s the same feeling i have with EA’s play. Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh…
- Game Help: … i mean i guess if i really really want guides that are the least helpful in the slightest, i guess…?..
- 12 month sub: Sorry, i’m allergic to wasting my money for being locked in a year.
- Play on PC: yeah uhh… that should actually say “Stream on PC!”. Ugh. Hey you know what’s my favorite part of playing single-players? input delay and needing internet connection! oh wait. /s
- No $1 for first month: That to me is a dealbreaker. It’s like trying before you buy into it. That’s the ULTIMATE sales pitch in my opinion. Which is ironic given Xbox Gamepass gives you ultimate for a $1. I buy that for a dollar!
The only praise i can give it is for it’s 900+ games which, kind of doesn’t matter if there’s a lot of bad or meh things about it. I know somebody will say that, but i will say this as i’ve said to having a bunch of free games on Epic Game store.
I can’t be just bribed on that alone. I don’t want just more, i also want it to be better on top of that.
I get some who will like it and if you do, good for you. And you’re allowed to not take what i’ve said here, since this is pretty much my opinion.
To me, i just don’t see a reason to have this service, as a replacement or addition.
