I have too many hero talent points

I hit level 70 and the game gave me all of my hero talent points at once, and now that I’m leveling up I keep receiving more talent points.

This also means I can’t make any changes to my build as you must spend all available talent points first.

I’ve disabled all addons, deleted my talent builds, reset all talent trees, run the game repair.

Anything else I could try to fix it?

Maybe try a full UI reset?

If it doesn’t work, the process is reversible. Simply move/rename the original folders back to how they were and you will get your settings back.

I followed the UI reset instructions and it didn’t work :frowning: I still have 12 hero talent points currently.

If you change specs, do the excess talents points follow?

Just tried your suggestion, changed to survival and yes they follow.

I’m currently dealing with the same exact situation I’ve done everything that has been suggested and still nothing has worked. I’ve completely reset my talent tree now I’m currently at a loss. I cannot assign any talents. I am using a level 80 hunter. I have no abilities due to this. Other than very basic.

Damn really? Wild. I just tried deleting and restoring my character but that did nothing.

Super frustrating at this point I’ve opened a ticket I’ve gotten nowhere as of yet. If something comes up, I’ll let you know. Good luck…

Does it let you select the starter build?

Currently, I have all my talent points. It will not let me assign them. I can place them, but it doesn’t let me apply them. As soon as you close out the tree, it does not save so you have to keep replacing them and starting over. That being pointless. It’s like having a bare-bones character with no abilities strange.

This is a response. I just received from a game, master. Hopefully that’s a better understanding for people dealing with this. At least we’re not alone.

I can see that other players are experiencing this as well, we as GameMasters cannot change/modify in-game mechanics. However, we guide players to report this issues as bugs in our in-game tool system and our forums.

This reports are not answered directly, but, they are sent to the required team, in this case the development team, the developers ask for this reports so they can investigate them, and doing so they can have a more visual of how this is affecting players.

Hey mate just logged in now and my hero talents have been reset to the value they should be at! Hopefully the same has happened for you.

Yeah my paladin has had this problem before, no help from the GM’s of course. The problem went away and after a race change my paladin has the same issue again. This is awful and would love to play my character.

I have had this issue for over a month. The issue has been on blizzard’s bug radar since December. Every interaction with support keeps telling me to report this on the forums. So I’ll drop a reply here along with a link to the full saga of my horrific customer support experience.

Level 80 Death Knight
I have 20 hero talent points instead of 10. Since I can’t spend all of my talent points, I can’t change specs. Basically, I can’t play my DK.

20 year vet here, I’m following this thread, and the one you have on Reddit. If you can’t help the players who have spend thousands of dollars on your game throughout the years, you shouldn’t be in business… period.

Companies have downsized customer support to their own detriment these days, some aren’t even giving refunds on obvious mistakes that they are making that cause inconveniences. At the MINIMUM, it shouldn’t be your responsibility to follow a public forum post, but theirs to prioritize the escalation, and report back to you within a service level that USED to be STANDARD in this industry.

Blizzard is failing big time on supporting customers with issues like this, false positives for cheating, RMT, etc.
