Just by happenstance I have tomorrow off. I didn’t take it off for the MoP release. (child’s preschool graduation party) That shouldn’t take more than an an hour or two.
That leaves me free for the rest of the day. So what do you suppose the odds are of the servers working properly?
My understanding is that its a separate game mode, like Plunderstorm was, so the odds are it should be working fine.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see though.
Well there is no maintenance listed fort tomorrow…basically it will just turn on and go from there…

I stole your ham sandwich. I’m not sorry.
WoW should be fine.

I appreciate it.
Truth be told, I was hungry. I only had unsalted peanuts for a snack last night.

It’s separate, but not. Remix is still played on normal Retail servers, those characters are just isolated from the rest of the world. I’m hoping the servers are able to handle it, but history has shown that WoW’s not in the same technical state that it was in back when their sharding tech was fresh and new. I can totally see some servers collapsing when it opens up. Area 52 is probably a goner. lol

I’m on Proudmoore, I don’t have high hopes
I would say, the odds of WOW itself being fine are very high. MOP Remix…we have no idea if there will be any bugs or glitches in that until we see it lol.
It will be turned on at 1pm est for me, I get done work at 3pm est, so I’m hoping any random immediate bugs are ironed out before I log on after 3. Heck, I might sneak online before 3 since I’m WFH…but I really shouldn’t, lol.
I did take off Friday for it though, a peaceful quiet day with family at work and school, so we’ll see how that goes.
Crossing my fingers for you, OP.
My guess, the starting area will be bugged out and laggy.

Yeah, that’s what I was going to say. On the PTR, the starting area was a frustrating bottleneck, so it wouldn’t surprise me if that had some issues at launch. Luckily, the starting area is short.
Other than that, I think everything will be fine.

In a rather large instance or a phase though?
I’m sure it will still be fine, either way. But then again maybe not. While this isn’t exactly as big as an expansion launch, even just minor patches have been landing sideways lately.
Remix Pandaria is probably its own instance like the normal version is, rather than just being a phasing thing. Seems like that’d be the way to go to ensure that there’s no possibility of interaction between the two.
Actually, typing it out now, that probably means that any potential problems will likely be contained within Remix. The rest of the game probably won’t be affected too much, even retail Pandaria.

Since only a 1 hour shutdown is listed, it’s hard to imagine the game will not be playable at all today.
Is it possible to ‘skip’ the starting area and just start farming mobs out in the wild? Or do you need to complete the area to get that cloak? I know very little about reMoP.
I’m just thinking about SoD where you couldn’t get any quests done, so it was better to leave the quest area and grind a few levels instead, and same kinda thing when I played BC classic opening night
I’m not touching Pandamonium until the weekend; hopefully all of the issues will be ironed out then.
Retail should be good though. I think that the RP servers will be pretty empty, comparatively, because people want xmog.
