I didn’t want to be eaten by a crocodile, so I decided instead of walking I would swim to Westfall …
It was an hour of pure swimming … nothing to do except swim … with a little surprises in the way…
And that was much more entertainment than the retail dailies …
Because my swimming rewarded me with a new quest to achieve …
As i thought, it wasn’t me… is this retail… is a prison.
In retail im just a lvl 60 paladin, but in classic im Chuchubana, a respectable lvl 10 druid, I’m loved and invited to do content, im talk with people, and believe me, there’s way more loot than retail.
This boredom isn’t your fault!

I remember the death run from Menethil to Ironforge lol. I actually did swim around most of the continents pre-Cataclysm. There were some interesting little easter eggs along the way.

I swam around the northern portion of Kalimdor once because I fell off running away from some Horde guy trying to kill my little alliance newbie.
That was bad enough until a guildie asked me why I didn’t use my stone and I had completely forgotten about its existence.

When I just started out I wanted to see what would happen if I swam from EK to Kalimdor. And that was how I learned about death by fatigue.

I still remember swimming from Westfall to Wetlands on my human char to quest in the night elf area once in late 04 or somewhere in 05 can’t remember clear been that long ago.
The swim took like 30 mins to a hour but it provided entertainment cause I saw some nice scenery.

I thought I would outsmart the system by exploring as a ghost.
Turns out, ghosts can die from fatigue. Oops.

There is also that death run that Night Elves did then too. They had to avoid the crocs of the wetlands and other mobs as they ran there way to Stormwind.
It was like a gauntlet of trials.
But they could have swam to Westfall it would have been easier.

classic is much easier and more comfortable to play as horde. Those zeppelins are godsend.
But as horde you have the Barrens for like 40 level or something. I don’t remember but it was a long time to be stuck in a desert fighting giant porcupines or whatever the heck quillboar are.
Haha. I accidentally did that on this character when I first started playing, but I managed not to die somehow. The fatigue zones scared the crap out of me when I hit them for the first time and I thought for sure I’d die every time I hit one

They’re half pig, half porcupine, half man.

God bored once swam around EK mostly wanted to see the unmarked area in plaguelands thats behind strath, made another attempt when SW came out fun fact get close insta death.
Sort of miss those days when area-based mob levels make us treat every area seriously. Unlike now, everywhere and every mob is the same.

well, it’s classic so you have more zones to level up in. You can skip barrens entirely. I prefer undead zones
I created a guild for that purpose, Guide Services LTD. Used to charge 10 silver to escort people across the wetlands to ironforge. Good times
I think you be doin’ the math wrong there. That all adds up to 1 and 1/2 of… something. Maybe if you were using 1/3rds…
That is what I did too. I liked the barrens the first time around but found all of the follow up zones, Stonetalon, Dustwallow, Ashenvale and Desolace dull compares to Silverpine, Hillsbrad and Alterac.
In fact I think the only reason to go to Desolace back then was for the SM quests on the Alliance side.
