I have it down to 3!

So, i want to get into rated PvP as Balance m, I set the lofty goal of making 1800 for the first time. I want to multi spec in PvE as guardian/boomy in Mythic+. Looking at the ladders, all of The best guys are either Kyrian or Necrolord. Night Fae also seems really fun for 1 shot set ups, but PvP guys like Supatease are advising against NF. What’s the best pick?

Whelp, I’m sure to no ones surprise I’m gonna respond as this is up my alley. Take everything I say not personally, just as unadulterated truth.

For your purpose of hitting 1800, it won’t matter. As an inexperienced pvp’er, don’t focus on what the absolute best people in the game are playing. You’re not going to utilize any of them to their best potential. Covenant choice will not make or break your ability to hit that goal. Playing what feel comfortable will be more beneficial than trying to suffer through what’s “best” for the sake of following a guide.

With that said, I understand wanting to practice something good; I’m not saying don’t care. As they say in the Marines, train like you fight. If you don’t take it seriously, you won’t grow.

SO, my advice? Go Kyrian. I don’t see how anyone would go necrolord, I’m not sure who you see that’s going that (as boomy or feral). Night fae will require attention and planning to maximize. You’re likely going be stopped on every single attempt and get frustrated. While going back to what I said, failure is part of progression, but ultimately I don’t want you discouraged and wasting a covenant. Kyrian can’t be stopped or dispelled, is off the gcd, is a short cd, and is nice damage. It’s simply reliable and very easy to use. You can’t really fail at getting value out of it.

My very last word will always be play what you feel fun and like. But my sensible advice is Kyrian for you.

Supatease’s latest video explains the rationale really well, so watch that if your still struggling with the decision.

I went Night Fae, because i really like convoke, and Ill probably stay there until it’s inevitably nerfed to teh ground.

TRUTH!

I know that I’m not top tier in PVP, but I do enjoy it. My attitude is that if i get outplayed I can learn from it. At my level I’m rarely going to be in a situation where not having a better covenant choice is going to be the reason i lose. I AM however going to have a LOT of fun with convoke.

if there’s a rogue on your team have him drop a smoke bomb then pop convoke so they cant interrupt it

Flapz, just gotta say man, long time lurker and short time poster here…but I always look forward to your input and perspective on these forums. I’m a duelist with some casual RL friends and would like to push glad this season and always value your level-headed and optimistic approach to the class and all aspects of the game. So for what it’s worth, thanks for your presence and contributions on all things Druid:)

Ya know, that’s the 2nd or 3rd time recently someone said something to that effect and I genuinely had no idea. With that said, trust that this isn’t just an obligatory response when I say thank you, I really do appreciate that. That goes for others who feel the same as well.

This is true, however that’s highly committal. With that said, I guess if it’s guaranteed a kill :man_shrugging:t2: Most of the time bomb is used to stop peels and incoming healing though. Perhaps it’d be better to use bomb for the rogue and convoke to force them to react to one or the other instead. Still, good thought.

+1 This.

If you PvE/PvP/Dungeon/Raid/Whatever spec. Kyrian is the most balanced and works with everything. HOWEVER, it is also the most boring.

I have the most fun with Convoke the Spirits however as someone who plays multiple specs and does both PvE and PvP Kyrian is my best bet. Also Blink Dog Night Fae Ability is not super useful as a Druid as it shifts you out of your form and you need to shift back.

I ended up going Kyrian
Thanks Flapz

How are you liking it?

I tested all of the abilities, I ended up narrowing it down to Kyrian and Necrolord but found Kyrian to be the most consistent. I like that it’s off of the GCD and I can line it up with badge for big damage.
It’s easy to use…Very “fire and forget”, also you glow blue when it’s active which I think looks pretty cool.
