Bringing my dual spec costs up to a completely out of reach 250g. This is deeply disturbing and a steep roadblock for alt enjoyers who will constantly have to churn up 50g each time.

By the time you hit 60 if you have been smart about everything you will make roughly 2000 gold per character on the way up.
50 Gold is nothing.
It’s an extra unnecessary fee putting 100 speed mounts further out of reach. Was there a fee to remove the debuff cap for each of your characters too?!
If you cannot afford both mounts, class skills, and enchants and consumables AND dual spec by level 60 on the First day then you’re doing something wrong.
Also there is NEVER any need or reason to buy gold; play better.
Having 4 characters means you’re earning 4 times the gold. I don’t see the issue

Making gold is easy and happens naturally from playing. The problem most people have is they spend it instead of saving it.
Sell valuable greens and BOE epics and blues on the way up, do the quests in mix with grinding and only do dungeons to break things up once in a while.
While leveling have both herbalism and mining so you can maximise gold.
Every character I build on era is solo self found but I do use the AH, and I always have enough gold to have all I desire.
You realize respecs in Vanilla/Classic cost up to 50 gold each time!!! You are getting permanent unrestricted dual spec for only a one time fee of 50g is so beyond generous.
You just strike me as someone that is more suited for retail. Classic follows a competelty different design philsophy one that doesnt cater to the instant gratificaition mob that over time erroded the core design and charm of the game as well as its social fabric.
This mentality and catering to it over the years is why 20 years later there still is a huge population that still play the orginal unaltered version of the game.
You are probably a quester, making your silvers reward per each quest turn in. You get the occasional green item drop from a mob that sells or vendors for a few silver as well. Then as you get closer to 60, you realize you be poor, as do many others, then have to fall back to buying gold.
I think it will be tight for a few weeks/months but open up over time to be less of a barrier.
Earning gold from mining/herb is easier on a mature server when people have gold to dump. I used to make a killing with swiftthistle, but at least as of yesterday it was 2.5s buyout (even assuming it was selling).
Doubt that you have 4 alts that NEED dual spec right now when we are levelling and doing levelling dungeons that don’t even require specialized speccing.
There is a fee for dual spec because in the original game, single respecs of your talents cost an increasing amount of gold, so dual spec is an investment to avoid paying each time.
No BGs means Swiftness Portions and Thistle Tea are mostly worthless. But stock up on the thistle now because this will change.

I called it out at launch on the forums. My bank is already full of Swiftthistle and the price has already started going up. I’m probably done buying if it keeps going up.

The 1st respec cost is 1 gold! It’s not immediately 50g! Where was the 50g cost to enable instant mail? Where was the 50g cost to remove the debuff cap for every single one of your characters? 20th Anniversary should have provided a complementary dual spec voucher. It’s completely unhinged forcing players into the dilemma of chosing dual spec or a mount at level 40!
I can assure you I have been buying. Are you on Nightslayer or Dreamsythe? I haven’t seen Swiftthistle that cheap for a while now on Nightslayer.
Yes and you reach that 50 limit super fast if you are an active player that might fill more than one role and opt to both PvE ans PvP. I have spent thousands of gold over time on respecs.
The entire flaw in your argument is that it hinges on the notion that you have to instantly get it at 40, when you really dont. You are honestly just whining and entitled and should truely consoder the pace and flow of classic as it might not be for you.
It also is just sheer laziness cause if you truely had the goal of getting both a mount and dual spec exactly at 40 or near 40 that is still even possible it just requires vesting some time and effort in farming, professions etc.

Pretty much. I’m running full resto on my shaman, I could actually have a need for Dual spec. I can’t just slap a shield on like a warrior and tank the leveling content as fury or arms while still effectively questing. Nor am I a rogue who can world PvP, Quest, and dungeon run as a PvP spec effectively. There are very niche groups this early who even need dual spec to begin with. And it’s absurd to treat it like it’s game breaking to not have it right at 40.
