There are never any requests for crafting orders and I do not belong to a guild. Should there not be a way to complete these as a solo player? maybe through the Consortium? please fix this Quest, Thank you.
get on an alt
send yourself some personal crafting orders
profit
you can have an alt make the request
You can also double-dip and have your alt request for the crafts that you need to make for that week.
A guildie sending you a request with no mats for something cheap also works.
This, surely a solo player has alts with every profession. You’ll go broke otherwise…
Just use your alts to make personal or guild orders for cheap stuff or bags/toys to sell on ah.
you can do them through alts or ask people on trade chat to help
Yeah unless that is your only toon you can just have another send a request for the lowest price thing
they have the achievement for terrific trio 6 months ago so they have an alt capable of doing it (well providing it is on that server and same faction)
If public orders are sitting around, it means there’s no crafters on your server who check it. That isn’t how it is designed to work. You can score some public orders now and then, but that’s not what you should rely on. If you run your craft like a business and advertise your services, you get your orders easy. If you want to skip all that you can send yourself orders from alts. That’s the design intent. It’s a good design. You wanting it to be like the auction house with 25 million orders sitting around is never going to happen.
They do have to be same server. They do NOT have to be same faction. I routinely send Blacksmith orders between my alliance and horde smiths (both on Proudmoore).
I disagree that it’s a good design. Blizz conceded that there were problems with the public order system by changing the limit you can fulfill from 20 to 4. That didn’t really solve the problem, so it’s still not a good design.
Even personal orders could be better facilitated by some automated listing service where people can pick their item and see a list of crafters that have signed up for the listing service, see their skill, inspiration, mulitcraft (if applicable for the item), and their notional commission. Hawking wares in trade chat is horribly inefficient unless that’s the only game you really want to play. I’d rather list my services, go play the actual content (M+, Raid, PvP, Open World) and then check for orders once or twice a day.
Yeah I do the quest by having alts make personal orders.
It’s still sad the crafting order system isn’t very useful to people who haven’t already leveled the profession and unlocked recipes few others have. Every profession leveling guide tells me “use the crafting order system so you don’t have to use personal mats”.
I send orders to my Horde toons from my only Alliance one all the time, even send them recraft orders from my Alliance toon. So they do not need to be in the same faction on your account. Only need to be in the same faction if you are looking for someone to make something you or your alts can not.
ok that I didn’t know - thanks for the info
I am pretty sure those guides were written at the start and that advise doesn’t make a lot of sense now
That explains it, I came into DF fairly late.
Than ask some random in chat to send you requests with no mats.
This also is inaccurate… I routinely see people asking for smith-weapons (my Horde can do these) while on my smith-armorer (who is Alliance). I simply whisper them to send the weapon order to my Horde toon and I’ve fulfilled all of them cross-faction. Just has to be same server.
