I have a crackpot theory re: artifacts in lemix

This is a way of testing out a kind of ‘subclassing’ system for the far-flung (or perhaps not so far-flung, it’s all relative) future.

naw, its just filler content that is designed in a fun way for players to attain mounts, toys, pets and mog they are missing from retail from a chosen expansion.

at most the heroic world tier might be some sort of testing for a future retail mode.

Yeah, I agree with this here. At the very most I would say the Heroic World Tier stuff MAY be something to look at as far as testing for future content goes. But, I think this is strictly a fun little event and a way to get some “older” players to come back to the game, if not just for a little bit, potentially to stay around and give retail a shot as well.

I also have this theory because of the sheer amount of simplification that’s happening across all classes in Midnight lends itself to this theory.

No doubt, it had to happen anyway because there was overcomplexity, but the sheer amount of simplication that’s happened, coupled with the timing of class-themed artifact trees? Also consider this and a the pattern of Blizzard’s development within development of MMOs in a wider scope:

Guild Wars 2 added flying (mounts). It was a huge success. World of Warcraft later added an even more refined version, Dragonriding. It was an even bigger success.

Elder Scrolls Online added subclassing. Well, you do the math. Blizzard are known for taking ideas and then sculpting them brilliantly.

I don’t see this as a coincidence in any way. The timing is too good, and we know that Blizzard plans things out years and years in advance.

I’d be willing to bet this is the case.

well yeah the entire Remix thing is that, but the artifact weapon trees? its almost like covenants that got slapped onto a weapon.

They should actually do this with covenants for an eventual Shadowlands Remix. That’s a rad idea.
