I have a couple of questions about Timewalking Dungeons

These questions apply for level 70 characters.

  1. Can you only queue for a random Dungeon, or can you specifically choose the dungeon you want to go through?

  2. I suppose you can’t walk to the dungeon to choose it manually?

  3. How many dungeons are available during each Timewalking event?

  4. Are the raids available?

  5. If you can only queue for them, we’ll have randoms placed in our group which we don’t like. If we kick them out (rude, I know), will they just be replaced with other random players, or can we continue with just the 8 of us?

  6. Are mythic raids and dungeons availabe?

Random only. But the game does try to give you a different one each time, depending on who your queue pops with.

No. There is no “timewalking” difficulty option in your character settings, so you will never get the timewalking difficulty when you walk in.

Each expansion event has 6 different dungeons. Note that the lineup does not include all dungeons from that expac, and dungeons can be swapped in and out occasionally.

To my knowledge, the only three raids available are Black Temple (during the BC event), Ulduar (during the Wrath event), and Firelands (during the Cata event). Other expansions may get a raid added eventually. A potential MoP raid was discussed recently and may be next.

You can’t queue for timewalking raids. You must form a premade group and talk to an NPC to enter the timewalking version.

No. Timewalking is currently considered its own difficulty. (This is different from “Fated”, if you were here for Shadowlands Season 4.)

TW dungeons are considered heroic dungeons.

  1. Queue only.
  2. No you cannot
  3. 5 or 6 each round
  4. Yes but you must make a premade group in LFG and talk to an NPC to teleport everyone in. Cannot que into the raids.
  5. Your stuck going in with who you went in with. You’ll have to leave and rejoin after recruiting people I believe.
  6. Dungeons are tuned to heroic, raids are tuned to “timewalker” which is somewhere between normal and heroic. They will not do a mythic tuned TW raid, but a version everyone is able to handle yet have enough skills/coordination for.

The problem with a que for raids are, most people don’t know mechanics or have enough DPS and would end up being dead weight carries. You can’t control who you get in que.

In terms of mechanics and achievements, yes. But numerical tuning and the way to actually access them is its own thing.
