I have a bunch of Mythic dungeon questions!

TLDR: Bullet points.

  • How many M+ levels can a Keystone jump? (If I do M+3, can I get an M+6? Or will I always loot an M+4?
  • What determines what Mythic level upgrade I get? (How fast I run, My Item level?)
  • If I do my M0 and get an M+2, will doing that M+2 give me another Keystone of higher value?
  • If I did a lower level Mythic, and lock the Dungeon, can I then go back and do it again in the same week on a higher Mythic difficulty? Ie. I run Freehold M0, can I then go back and run Freehold M+2 with all the bosses unlocked because it’s now a different difficulty? Or is that dungeon locked for the week because I did the M0? Will that M+2 Freehold Keystone be useless to me and just sit in my bag now until the week resets?
  • What is the current Mythic cap? (M+15?)

Hey, long story short, I took a break from the game, and when I came back Mythic Dungeons were a thing. I have questions.

So I’ve been doing a bunch of M0 dungeons this week. I currently have 8 on lockout as we speak. They’re fun. I’m getting better gear, and I’m enjoying that.

I noticed that we get Keystones from completing the first M0 of the week. On this mage, I got a Mythic Level 2 for Freehold. Great. On my Druid, I actually got a Mythic level 3.

What determines what level upgrade I get from my first run? Is it how well we do? Is it how fast we clear it? Is it my personal Item level at the time?

Likewise, do each successive Mythic levels give another Keystone? If I go do that M+2 Freehold, will I then get an M+3 for another dungeon?

How high can the numbers skip? If a group of the best geared players go into an M0 at the beginning of the week can they get an M+10 keystone? Or will they have to progress through the ranks like everyone else? If I do the M+3 on my druid can I get an M+5? Or will I get an M+4 at that point?

If I have a dungeon locked because I did it already, can I then unlock it with a higher Keystone?

I did Freehold without knowing what the Keystones were at the time. Currently it’s locked out because I did it yesterday on M0. If I walked into the dungeon and put my M+2 Freehold Keystone into the totem thing will the bosses unlock because it’s now set to a higher difficulty? Or will the dungeon stay locked because I’ve already run it for the week? Am I now stuck with a Keystone in my bag that I can’t use?

If that’s the case, how do people get up to high level keystones if they continually have to lock dungeons? Do they just do dungeons they don’t want until they get a keystone for the one they do want?

What is the current Mythic cap? (M+15 isn’t it?)

Where can I find a list of Item level per Mythic Difficulty? Ie. How do I know what Item level gear I should expect from an M+5 for example.

Final questions is where can I find a good guide on each of the dungeon modifiers?

This should be able to answer all of your questions.

3 levels

The speed. If you complete it in x amount of time it will upgrade the key by 1 2 or 3 levels depending on how long it took

Each dungeon has different time criteria

Yes if you time it

Yes, you can run m+ dungeons as many times as you have keys

Great site for m+ info

In addition to what the above poster said, there isn’t a cap. That being said, you stop getting better gear at +10.

So, If I go run M+2 Freehold, and we do the dungeon in the time frame, and everything goes well. I get a new Keystone for a different dungeon, and everything is all good.

If my buddy comes on later, and he also has a M+2 Freehold Keystone, can I join his group and do the exact same dungeon on the exact same difficulty? Will it always unlock as long as someone has a keystone?

Or will it only unlock for me if I have a +3 or higher? Will M+2 Freehold be locked to me like M0 is? Or can I run M+2 Freehold 8 times if I wanted to as long as someone in the group has the M+2 Freehold Keystone?

If I feel that with my gear, and confidence level I only want to do M+3 this week and no higher, but I really want a specific piece of gear from a particular boss in a dungeon. Can I continually run that same dungeon over and over at M+3 with a different group?

Yes. I have done two freehold +15s back to back before.

You can chain-run the same dungeon on the same difficulty so long as you have a key.

You can run 900 +2 freeholds if you so choose to. There is no lockout. Also I want to state that you are not GUARENTEED to roll a different dungeon. If you do a Shrine 5 and 2 chest (finish with ~1/3 the time left) you CAN get a Shrine 7. Its all chance.

Another thing to point out is the keystone you initially get is based on what dungeon you do. On Tuesday you will get a keystone 1 lower than the highest dungeon you did in the week (which is told to you in the mythic dungeons tab of the group finder). Staying with the Shrine 5 example, on Tuesday you will receive a random +4 key in your box.

If you did not do a dungeon the previous week your ways of obtaining a key are running a 0 (where you always get a 2) OR joining a PUG and then the key will be based on that dungeon. Yet again with the Shrine 5, at the end you will receive a random 7 key instead of a 2.

Not that it applies to OP here, but every level past 10 adds an additive 20% chance of loot per level. A +14 has an 80% chance at another piece and a +17 has a 160% (so guarenteed 4 pieces and then 60% at a 5th).

I feel really weird having someone named “omniscience” asking so many questions!

Hes testing us clearly.

yes, this is exactly how it works

you will be eligible for loot if you run your friend’s key with him, even after you’ve completed it on +n difficulty

Well you see, I used to be before I took my break. Now I’m more “Psudo-Omniscient”. I need to work my way back up.

Thats exactly what an omniscience creature that is really just testing us would say.

Yep, you’re correct. I just didn’t think it necessary to mention giving the context of the post.

I was mainly saying it just to state it in case someone else were to happen upon this post. Might as well compile all the “relevant” information in one spot. Basically answering a question before it is asked in case someone wanted to respond with something like “what is the point of doing more than a +10 then?”
