Only a small minority care about faction pride and they are mostly laughed at now.
its nice to see that players who chose a faction can do the content they want to do, its shocking right right
You don’t need a war against another culture to have cultural pride. Some people wish to RP acceptable racism or something, that’s their prerogative.
I just want to play the races I enjoy with my friends, and now I can. I look forward to being able to guild with them.
The faction split hasn’t made sense since MoP at the very latest. Heck, in TBC my alliance player helped free Thrall in the past. In Cata I continued to help Thrall, the horde Warchief. It’s only gotten bigger picture since then, and any themes that directly make us choose faction loyalty over the bigger picture have felt forced at best.
So far almost all of the cross faction groups I have been in have gone well. People just want to get through without any fuss. A few have bricked because people bailed, but those have been really rare. Most Horde/Alliance folks in the content I do are pretty mellow.
The only sour puss players have been Alliance. One was an Alliance Dwarf hunter that railed on about how Horde players were terrible and all his groups with Horde players failed. Then he dipped… Hmmm… Seems like the common theme with that guy was… him. The second was an Alliance Warlock giving grief to the Horde Guardian Druid Tank about the route on a low key. (+12?) Like it was gonna matter the way we were smashing through stuff. The Alliance Shammy heals got disgusted with the Warlock and dipped after 3rd boss in Necrotic Wake, so we had to 4 man the last boss. (Still timed it.)
I have noticed people comment on how much easier it is to get groups. The tank on of my DoS runs last week even said he’d seen better quality players in his groups because of cross faction play.
From the folks I have seen commenting about cross faction, the feedback is pretty positive.
Magic 8-ball says, outlook not so good
If so, then it’s Ion Hazzikostas’ fault in not caring to the Alliance-players almost a decade prior.
i used to listen to ion and ghostcrawler when they talked to me and alot of other people in game on mal’ganis long ago about faction imbalance cause i was alli there and in the end it was always were working on it sure ya are lol. idc if they keep going in the path they are everyone is gonna be praising cross faction if player numbers keep dropping.
Ive been farming mythic pluses and raiding since cross realm came in and have had no issues with horde. In fact i love pugging with horde players.
Well I discovered that the cross faction thing makes my bi-weekly SoO farming runs a lot easier. So I am a fan.
