Welcome to the Classic Experience
/end thread
I like it. But im more into the rpg aspect of games.
I think it’s a neat roleplaying aspect, like your character is learning to use a new weapon and if you’re too lazy for it you kind of develop an affinity for certain types of weapons.
Int buff, windfury and two dimestore weapons with 1.6 speed cut it down to 15 minutes.
Did this for unarmed with bloody knuckledusters.
I like weapon skill. Makes it feel like you are mastering a weapon instead of just being like ‘oh yeah I am already master of all weapons’ and reducing the rpg elements. We should have more skills. Like shadow skills and frost skill. I mean we do technically have that stuff, but Blizzard seems to have never implemented it.
oh and being a warrior getting a mad green 2h at level seven, oh wait i have to hike it to some foreign capitol city and drop 10s, which of course im not even remotely close to having.
Technically they did, they just didn’t make it level up like weapon skill, in EQ both were leveled the same way.
yes, having to go to darnassus to use a dagger or whatever is stupid.
This is the kind of “oh how inconvenient” speak that led us to Classic where you can learn everything everywhere and don’t need to level it up.
grab healer friend
go to blasted lands
grab one of the guys that can only die when you engage the crystal
and dont engage it.
just auto attack and stand there.
have healer friend toss a heal on you now and then
hang out and chat in discord till with in 5 points of max
Yeah that sucks.
I tend to level the weapon skills that I will need, while leveling. So I wouldn’t end up with say 2 handed mace skills at 0, while also having anticipated going for Hand of Rag, for example.
yeh, imagine if it was in retail, going 1-120 using boa axe etc then getting upgrade and needing to level weapon skill 1-600 or so
It was removed in wrath right? effectively still classic since it was pre activision.
You mean retail?
Good question, i don’t remember now ![]()
You may be right, i am not envisioning my DK having to skill weaps
but my brain could be foggy
It was removed in Cataclysm.
Yes - was a typo
Think this is bad? In Everquest you could only raise weapon and defense skills on mobs close to your level.
Which really isn’t that bad if you have 15 years to plan out what items you will equip, and level your skills, while you level.
In EQ, did it in the guild Hall in the regen pool, same with spell trees
