I was excited for this rework today until I actually played it. In fact this is the first time I’ve ever posted on these forums I believe. The Vanguard of Justice talent makes this rotation so awkward and clunky. What was the purpose of getting rid of button bloat only to ruin 12 years of muscle memory and make damaging holy power spenders cost 4 holy power instead of 3? The feel of this rotation actually feels worse than it did yesterday.
I kind of agree lol.
I’m gonna try to get use to it but my brain is not happy right now. It’s very jarring.
Doesn’t help that ST is execution sentence meta again.
yeah I don’t like that either
I probably will not be using it. I remember they tested it having two skill points to increase damage by a lot more, some percentage for each point into it. However I enjoy my 3 holy power.
Agree very much, not sure why this was made a thing.
Well according to my tests it is more dps using VoJ than non-VoJ with the right build.
But the difference isn’t that much greater.
About 22.0 mil over 6 minutes 29 sec with VoJ with this recommended ST build:
About 22.62 mil over 6 minutes 23 sec with VoJ with this build i made:
About 22.2 mil over 6 minutes 20 sec without VoJ using this build i made:
The discrepancies between seconds is largely irrelevant due to Consecration timings, so it’s safe to ignore it, i always stopped when AW finishes.
So there isn’t much of a difference between the builds that can’t be overcome by some rng either way.
Rotation to use for the last build:
Judge>BoJ>AW+ES+HoW>FV>HoW>FV>DT>WoA>FV>HoW>FV> and then you always try to match to 3 HP during AW+DR combo, as you’re expecting Divine Resonance to keep dropping Judgments for +2HP.
Getting to the next ES, you try to have 5 HP by the time you get to it, but if not, don’t panic you have 3~ seconds you can delay it to get to 5, so set up properly.
When next AW comes up try to get 4-5 HP and do the first sequence again, even if you waste 1 HP on a HoW, since the important part is to always start with HoW crit to feed ES as much as you can.
If you have a choice between HoW and FV at the end of an ES, always chose FV as a rule.
P.S. It’s much closer to ES dmg if you use FV with a non-VoJ build for ST, since you can get in more attacks under it, even if they are a bit weaker.
Thanks for the reply with the hard numbers. I’ll be using your build without VoJ, that’s not much of a difference and I haven’t been a hardcore player for years. I just want something that feels good to play.
Just practice the rotation and you’ll have it in your muscle memory in 2 days.
Game-play goes a bit faster than with the VoJ one… or at least appears so, so you might feel overwhelmed at first, but then you’ll realize how the attacks fit in the rotation.
Would nice if voj could spent up to 4 hp but let you use 3 hp fv if not at 4
I could get behind this. I had a heck of a time first few fights getting accustomed to it. But the +1 HP on judgment and divine toll definitely does help. Also we tend to get HP in multiples of two if you’re also using Templar Strikes since it’s 2hp combo, BOJ, and Judgment for 2. Only weird one is Hammer of Wrath pre 20%.
