no he’s right.
Sad huh?
Lol no he’s not
You can laugh but if we get into a conversation you will never back up SL being a retcon with a rational argument. It expanded on the lore but it didn’t change anything that had been established in the game.
The drusts should have remained as Azeroth threat only. Their lore and quests in Drustvar/Kultiras are intriguing and fun, totally Halloween vibes.
They should have carry on the Drust in another expansion on Azeroth. But blizzard decided to put them in the middle of this cosmic nonsense, just to abandom their plot later.
That’s nice? I didn’t say it did. All I did was laugh at the idea that it was better than DF.
SL is one of the most lore heavy expansions in history and despite you not liking it (probably because sylvanss fanboy or jailer that would undrrstand) its important to the gsme

In my opinion each is better in different areas. SL was more fun to play. The story was better. The NPCs were more interesting. But DF had Dragon flying and Follower Dungeons, two of the best additions to the game I’ve seen.

but can anyone remind me what the crap the drust were upto?
SL was basically a battle of who has the most anima.
The drust were one of the scavengers. Because ardenwald and the fae (and the drust) are entwined with druidism, and because of all the souls getting funneled into the maw. The fae were weakened, which drew the drust there (because of their ties to druidism), it made it easier to tap into their anima and corrupt their people.
Why we don’t really see much of the drust after is because we pretty much super deleted them throughout the fae campaign. Even killing their main leaders at the end of it.
Granted gorak tul is a huge plot hole from bfa, we did see somewhat of a conclusion via fae campaign (ignoring korthia being a scrapped drust zone).

I feel like it’s pretty clear the Drust were cut content. We never got a raid in Ardenweald - I suspect that if we had, it would have concluded their plotline.
I was so looking forward to a Drust Raid. I was hoping for Daelin Proudmoore to be a boss fight, corrupted by the Drust.
I think I watched a spanish Youtuber who does cut content and mystery videos and he mentioned something similar with the Drust. When you see all the cut content on several expansions seems to have been intended to be much more epic. The Elune part in WOD for instance.

I might see them returning, as well as those anima devourers. I think beings from that dimension is what Zooval was talking about.
This plot point had nothing to do with the writers pets (Sylvanas and Anduin) and was wrapped up asap to give them more unneeded screentime.

Shadowlands lore never ever account for what villain actually want. They just oppose us for no reason.
