I hate this new forum

yeah, I was kind of speaking in infinity scrolls in general to why I don’t like them. Bad association. Not at bad here, but sometimes it does get confusing to where you are, especially if say - the cat walked in the keyboard, pressed the space bar, and I’m suddenly like 20 replies down.

Actually, I’m not sure if that would happen or not. QUICK someone get me a cat so I may experiment this theory! FOR SCIENCE!

I didn’t even know the new forums were out til a few minutes ago, they seem like they will take a bit of getting use to.

I think it’s unfair that something as simple as a short forum suspension can bar you from getting to trust level 3 forever.

I haven’t checked it out on mobile yet so I can’t offer any comment there. The entire thing does seem like there is so much… “extra”.

I don’t like the summery, I don’t like how it can be abused so easy, I don’t like the idea of like trading or replying for replies when the point is to be able to build a better community not whatever is happening now.

There are some pretty big changes that I do like though so far.

First, not seeing “Green Tags” everywhere has been very nice. I have no problem being a green text in a reply but I feel like my contributions are in the thread, not outside of it, and I’m not really replying to call attention to things I’m just trying to engage and be apart of the discussion. So not seeing 10000x of those has been nice, truthfully.
Second, the live updates of the threads is really solid.
Third, it looks like we’ll be able to have viewer parties during the MID & Arena Matches, Q&A, etc. Kind of excited to see that potential.

I frequent many different forums, gaming and unrelated — None of which have infinite scrolling. Not a feature I care for at all. The rest of the features are fantastic, though.

almost didnt realize I was on the forums… I thought Id opened twitter by accident… though I guess this is one way to get devs off twitter, just make the forums look like twitter.

This is actually a major nightmare. Especially since it’s gone back and marked a ton of forums I’ve posted on in the past as new and unread (really regretting posing anything in that guild ui thread ages ago when it only had a few hundred posts… made me scroll all the way through 2k posts to mark it as read) it’s hell to navigate on mobile; you’re right about that one. I miss the old ones. This endless page nonsense has gotta goooo

General Discussion threads get SO MUCH VOLUME. I don’t know how I’m going to adjust yet to the endless scroll even if it does save my position in the thread as I read off & on while I’m doing other tasks.

Just started playing with it on the phone it’s not too bad but definitely different fee as to navigation, but the live updating is pretty cool. I also like the “unread” if your following a post it’s much easier to find instead of trying to dig and find where it may have ended up later.

I don’t like it in general because it seems to try to integrate a lot of ‘features’ that aren’t really needed.

For example… why would I ever need to know that ‘There are X replies within an estimated read time of X minutes’?

What purpose is there to have a ‘Frequent’ Poster section witha ‘last reply’ callout?

Yeah not a fan but I wouldn’t say hate. Endless scrolling truly is endless especially in longer threads. Format looks terrible on PC - so much wasted space and way too compact. That bar on the side is very annoying as well. Was hoping for better colors but apparently new colors would be “too new”. I don’t like this format on other websites’ forums so it’s not going to grow on me.

Definitely will be spending less time here but that’s not necessarily a bad thing For those of you who like it, enjoy!

You’ve still gotta hunt for it a bit though.

I’m just now seeing that this particular thread was in reply to me and I think it shows who replies to who, and where, much better on the notification page than it does it in the actual forum thread you are viewing, even if that is where the reply was.
