I cant quite put my finger on it but something about these new forums discourages posting(For me at least). I used to look forward to reading and posting on Sundays but now? Not so much.

Glad to see someone else on the forum that knows the meaning of usability, white space, etc. I doubt very much those responsible for this garbage ever attended graphic design training. There is literally no sense of structure or relationship of it’s elements.

Attempting to reinvent the wheel into something other than a round shape is simple pretentious crap. The original forums were perfect. They had all the functionality one could ask for, were accessible, intuitive, straightforward. Best part is the DID NOT GET IN THE WAY OF COMMUNICATION.

Blizzard needs to put the brakes on the attempts to be edgy and hip, and get back to sensible basics. As with D: Immortal, who in the hell was asking for this?

You think that’s pretentious and insensitive?. You should check out some of the :poop: takes from the developers of this forum script (Called Discourse), particularly their vehement refusal to add a block / ignore / mute function which hides the posts of other individuals. (Blizzard says they’re working with the developers to try and get a block feature implemented.)

This vehement refusal continued even when people working at schools reported female students who had been abused / assaulted at uni were requesting account deletion from the school Discourse boards they were automatically described to because they were unable to block the people who abused them, and could not use the service without risking being exposed to that person.

And the devs asked why their abusers were allowed on the forum, and didn’t understand that these things often go unreported due to stigma against the victims.

Their whole view is that when people disagree they should have a polite discussion and come to an understanding. Yeah, there are situations where that doesn’t work.

I don’t mind the new design for the most part. The one thing I can’t stand and this seems to be infecting more and more websites every year is the idea that we can’t have information separated into pages and it all has to be on one page that grows dynamically when you reach the bottom.

I smell a conspiracy Highpaws, see every time someone says ‘oh this forum is hard to use on my phone’ sounds like Blizzard is finding out how many people have phones…so they can justify Diablo Immortal…

I was shocked to find out how popular infinite scrolling actually is. I don’t mind it but I prefer pages. Apparently there are a lot of people out there the prefer no pages. :man_shrugging:

I miss the page format myself. The infinite scrolling is going to take awhile to get used to for sure.
