It is completely unplayable for me. In all my 14 years of playing wow I have never experienced the level of frustration with the game that I am now. I was able to make through the storyline and choose a covenant with my settings set as low as it could. However, the layout and how content is arranged makes the process even more frustrating. Oribos is basically a prison for those with low fps and yet, quests have you constantly returning just to receive transition quests that should be auto-complete. (Please, save yourself the effort of explaining to me that the game requirements have changed and to go through the various steps that ultimately only end up adding 3 more fps) What has me upset is the complete disconnect with the average player. I should not have to buy an entirely new comp to play the game. The idea should be make the game playable for as many people as possible. Instead of forcing long time customers to unsub because all aspects of the game have become unplayable, especially since I did not have these issues in BFA at this level. The storyline, cutscenes, and possible rewards would normally offset the frustration but most of this is hidden behind content and what I have experienced isn’t worth the effort…which would mean weathering the insanity. (2020 has been hard, Bangkok has taken what tolerance I had for discomfort) In BFA, this process seemed easier and player-friendly. In SL it feels all thrown at you at once which only adds to the malcontent. This may be the expansion that ends my wow experience and I enjoyed WoD lol. Money down the drain, thanks Devs!

i dont mean to be rude man but the game released in 2004 you probably shouldve upgraded your pc since then
The… capital? What’s being thrown at you at once? The experience was pretty streamlined and they do a good job of introducing elements whether it’s gameplay, characters, or story beats.
lmao you seem pleasant nevermind unsub already
Out of curiosity, what are your current machine specs?
Rather than a brick, might I suggest the potato you’re trying to play wow on instead?
So let’s take bets on how many posts this gets before being locked.
I think we can do 259.
Also…hombre, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but they did put out SL is going to be more system intensive than BfA was. While there is a planned fix coming to make it more palatable to older systems, the fact is time marches on with technology. Its never stagnant. What was passing fine for me in 2015 crashed in 2018. Even my 2018 has taken some upgrades here and there for QoL and playablity.
If you aren’t willing to adjust fire where you need to, then I’m not sure gaming on a computer is for you.
i wonder if OP’s PC can still run Doom
Man I can play doom on my watch.
I, too, resort to violence when my hamster in the wheel powering my house dies.
i think they did a p good job with the expac, i am astounded at the difference in intensity behind chores that there were at the start of BFA and the chores now at the start of SL, i was able to do my renown, PVP and mythic stuff last week and cap out at a good ilvl and pump out stupid competitive numbers by friday, and not play the game for three days straight, then come back and my numbers are still just as competitive and theres no feeling of having missed out in my progression for gearing
its a great start so far, the launch went off without a hitch on my end and while there were some issues with the server later in the week, i think they did a good job
i am a bit miffed at the timegating for torghast and soul ash, but theres so little of timegating so far, and reputation grinding is no longer a 100% big deal with the renown system. its v clear that activision’s influence was kept on a leash this time around with the launch
Did…did OP miss the fact Blizzard initially recommended a SSD at minimum for Shadowlands?
They haven’t exactly made it a secret the specs for Shadowlands were going to jump up significantly.
And to be honest I’ve noticed that between each expansion has been a notable - not TREMENDOUS but notable - jump up in performance requirements since Mists to Warlords and has been kinda consistent since then.
I’m pleasantly surprised as well. I managed to complete my weekly renown quests, finish all Torghast tasks, and get 8/8 M0 dungeons in the first week at least on my main. If you cut out the time levelling characters between last Tuesday and now, as well as maxing professions, I can probably manage 8/8 M0 and all renown tasks on two characters this week with ease.
I will probably get started on my US priest once I finished Soul Ash for this coming week starting tomorrow.
I also feel like the tasks themselves are more enjoyable than BfA. Farming anima and seeing it stored in the Covenant hall, the Covenant halls themselves, and the “additional” things you can unlock really don’t feel like too much at all.
Overall, I think this is the best expansion start I had since MoP. And with the bite-sized gating of tasks, it means I can also play some PvE on a US character with some NA friends without stressing myself out too much.
This has been a longer year than usual for most people. If a video game is causing you this much stress, maybe it’s time to take a break from it for a bit.
Catch your breath stranger and don’t let it get to you.
Liotuse, why are you a HK Droid?
mogging at the start of an expansion is for cowards and respectable people that enjoy video games
lol Which is the point of the entire post…I am unsubbed. I even left a disclaimer saving most of the idiots the effort but in true wow fashion…trolls will be trolls. So, have at it
if only there were some well known Warcraft fansite that helped people out with PC builds across a wide price range from cheap $ to primo $$$$.
