Remove everyone from your favorites and you basically have it back.

Not exactly what I was looking for. It is still showing all my characters no matter what realm I am on. It is still saying it is my Warband List.

Unfortunately support can not help with that, you could put in a suggestion via the game menu, or edit the topic and move it to general discussion. Would get to the development team faster.

Just move the ones you care about toward the top of the list. You can click and drag them to reorder the list.
Personally, I feel they should add a server list toggle to pick which servers you want to show characters from. I have some ancient vanilla alts on servers I don’t play on. I don’t want to delete them, but I also don’t want them in the list.
I suggest you use the ingame suggestion tool to submit ideas or complaints, since these support forums are not the place for them.
In actually play every one of my characters every day. I have 15 characters in the Alliance and 9 in the Horde. They are varying levels and they all do Daily Quests. I have absolutely no interest in Raiding, PvP or RP play anymore.
They are all going to be in one list now, even if you remove some from the campfire scene.
If you want to provide feedback on the new list, the best place to do so would be General Discussion.
I want a Classic style character list in Retail.
You should say that someplace the developers will hear you. Which is not here.
