I think it’s pretty lame that Blizzard basically paywalls the Heroic item level gap. Unless I’m missing something?
I know technically, it’s not pay walled. But I refuse to play delves. I just think they are so boring and I don’t feel like learning the system to upgrade your keys and all that its totally not my jam, as is for alot of people. The delves dungeons are super lame full of quests for 6th graders it’s the opposite of what I want to do in this game. It’s just bland, boring, time wasting.
I prefer grinding dungeons. But the max ilevel normal dungeons give you is 639. The requirement to queue for heroic dungeons is ilvl651.
This is really annoying when creating new characters. I really just want to play M+. But I guess, for players like me, we just have to buy a wow token so we can buy AH gear.
I think that’s really lame and a blatant money grab. Unless, am I missing something? I do grab all of the items world quests have to offer, but it’s not enough.
It just seems lame that delves exist in the way that they do. They serve two purposes. 1.) For casual gamers, who prefer getting up to some ilvl to skip the first few key levels (or, I’d imagine alot of these players are not interesting in M+ at all.) and 2.) The somewhat hardcore gamers who want to get ahead on the week before season starts.
Thats really it. And, it seems Blizzard just doesn’t want to hurt the feelings of whoevers stupid idea Delves were so they tried to make it semi relevant. And expect people like me to play them… I’m a hardcore-casual. I enjoy challenging hard content, but I’ll still only do things that I think are fun. That translates to m+. I just like m+. Not toys r us mystery dungeon stuff where you have to upgrade your chest or key or whatever it is. its sooo boring. such a miss.
I mean, yeah, obviously. Maybe if I had a group of friends who would run me. But being this low, people will just leave the group I make. And I mean, I can’t exactly blame them. I trust in my ability - I would do fine, but they dont know that. But espicially near season starts, people are extremely picky about item level.
Dude. I just made several M0 dungeons. Everyone who applied were like 680+ And the tanks would immediately leave.
I wouldn’t make this post without trying first. I tried several times, sure if I put in alot of time I could find a group eventually. But it’s dumb I wish things were the way they were previously.
Yeah – I don’t like that content. It didn’t used to be that way. I refuse. I have a wow token already in AH. Just made this post to gather info, luckily theres a quest chain I can do for several 660s. But yeah the point of the post was about not doing delves cuz they’re wack.
Adventurer gear from world quests can also pull you up enough for heroics. If you’re looking for them for something other than gear, because heroics drop adventurer.
Yeah, I wad talking about the quests. If you really don’t want to do delves, can also spam nightfall. Upgradeable explorer from final boss, adventurer from the purple cache you get for 100% on the bar.
Edit: also my bad, forgot some WQs drop explorer instead of adventurer but can still upgrade them to push for ilevel requirement.
Don’t forget that for every 30 weathered crests you accumulate you can craft a cheap piece of 675 gear. It doesn’t take much to hit the minimum ilvl for heroics.

Even though I play this game semi-consistently. I’m pretty outdated in my knowledge. I just love pushing keys. I’ll do something technically illegal I dont want to mention sometimes to get my character raid drops but other then that… I just push keys. I truly do love this game. I watch RWF every season and all that. I wish I had a nice group of raiders to raid with but I just never end up sticking with a guild. They become too possessive or are salty mean when I’m first learning mechanics so … I’m just an M+ dood.
A lot of the weekly world activities (awakening the machine, theater troupe, undermine weeklies, etc) give 10 each. A full loop wouldn’t take long and would get you enough for 2-3 crafts.
Grab titan Disc Blue quest thing… it has a box, which should be complete after doing the various activities.
Do the Time walking Raid, get the raid quest from old dal and the time walking quest from Dornogal.
do a full run TW raid. get lots of chances for champion gear. get 1 Hero tier item get another champion item from the chest.
Run Hollowfall event every hour. first time, get the quest to do the event. get a Vet item, could proc high ilvl. and a token to get any item off the vendor.
*save to fill what ever slot RNG wont give you.
fill the bar 100% every hour for a chance to get Adventure gear.
Be sure to get the Main Quest cloak. for a 700+ ilvl slot.
Get the Delve Quest for the belt. for another ~690-701 ilvl
end of the day, its not hard for even a 1 button alt to get the minimum ilvl needed to do heroic dungeons.
but once you have the ilvl, run LFR for a few more chances at tier slot items.
