Man, now I feel a little guilty. I hate animals they are annoying critters to me. But I live in a roommate situation and they decided to rescue a cat a few weeks back. Been on the streets idk how long but it’s been pretty much mean as all get out to everyone in the house. Stupid thing decided to lay on me. How the heck am I suppose to put this annoying creature out of my room when it decides to cuddle up to me when it’s been mean to everyone. ugh… It’s prolly cause it’s scared of the fireworks and stuff I’m sure. -.- Bet if I take it out of my room it’ll be all noisy and meow like the other cats do. Plz someone take it away.

Cats are amazing at figuring a human’s weaknesses

My dogs barely react.

I don’t do fireworks but I don’t mind it either, honestly, fireworks are just music to my ears. But my neighbors are terrified, some of them even made a complaint to the local council, now THAT is terrifying to me.

At first, I couldn’t believe it, so I went to the local council meeting the other day and it was like a scene from Parks and Recreation, just funny but terrifying.

I am a veteran and yeah the banging bothers me a little. I’m ok for the most part though.

I’m not trilled with the idea to drug my dogs but I’ll give it a try on the next fireworks holiday.

Problem with parks and rec is that too many of the government workers were competent in that show.

But they did nail the people accuratey.

I was out there like most people until I got a dog. Thunder and fireworks spooked it so i stopped doing them. Poor guy.

Meh, I don’t have much issues with the 4th specifically if people could just stick to shooting off on that day. It’s more the one week before and week after with fireworks that I take issue with. My cat gets stressed out, she’s doing pretty good in my opinion for a cat that was thrown away in a plastic bag. She’s mellowed a lot over the years, now we can change trash bag and she just looks at us with worried eyes, she used to sink together and slither away and curl up hiding under something for hours. She made my heart melt when fireworks went off at its worst, instead of burying under a blanket she came running meowing at me and jumped up to curl up next to me  Super progress, and shows that she’s learned that we are safe and will keep her safe!

I give mine a little whisky and he seem to calm down a bit. I am talking no more than a table spoon. Otherwise it will hurt dog.

I like fireworks, but I completely understand the impact they have on our four legged friends.

We should start a tradition to go out to location out of our neighborhood to launch fire-

Our dog doesn’t care.

On the topic of fireworks though, anyone else here ever played tag with roman candles before? We used to shoot em at each other. Was funny at the time. :fireworks:

I don’t understand how any American could celebrate their country in these times :grimacing:
