So I’ve been having this really annoying problem with my phone, and I just have to wonder… “Why the ever-living-flip does anybody think this is a good idea!?”
My very first smartphone (A Galaxy A51), that I am still using to this day, I bought about 4 years ago and it does what I need it to do and I’m happy with it… except within the last year, Samsung has decided to take it upon themselves to make the stupid thing as annoying as possible.
I’ve researched information on this, and I’ve poured through settings, but nothing will fix this stupid problem. The phone keeps sending me notifications about stuff I do not care about whatsoever.
“VERIFY YOUR NUMBER TO CONTINUE USING (some stupid app I’ve not used once in the 4 years I owned the phone)”
“YOU USED YOUR PHONE X MINUTES THIS WEEK!”
“THESE APPS (that you only boot once-in-awhile that work fine, some of which I never used at all) HAVE UPDATES!”
I set absolutely EVERYTHING to Silent notifications except for Text messages and phone calls.
I don’t want my phone making noise for ANYTHING other than phone calls or text messages.
But nothing, and I mean, nothing seems to get rid of these stupid nagging pesky sound notifications for this stupid crap I do not care about.
Also, I really wish Samsung would STOP installing apps I did not ask for. Nearly every week I scroll through the apps looking for stuff I use, I see new games popping up that I didn’t ask for. No, I didn’t want a casino game on my phone, nor do I care about Chinese shopping apps, nor any of the other games that keep popping up.
I want a phone that does text messages, phone calls, and about 3-5 apps of my choice and that’s it.
