I HATE Mythic+ and Raiding is Dead. Incoming Rant

I hate that players can just mindlessly spam high key’s and get ridiculous gear pretty much infinitely. It’s only added to the gatekeeping of WoW. I understand people were pissed off that you were basically forced to raid log in the past, but I partially think it’s unfair.

Players who don’t have a massive amount of time for group play just get screwed.

Players gets a kick because

  • Gearscore
  • M+ Rating
  • Boss kill count
  • Spec

Why is it fair for someone to completely no life the game and get a bunch of 660+ gear and pretty secure themselves infinite raiding access because they now have an insane gearscore and just get to Catalyze gear for tier sets and acquire trinkets. I already know if this was a reddit post it would be downvoted into oblivion because all that really exists anymore is a bunch of Mythic+ junkies.

I understand this new generation of players have ADHD from tiktok and stuff, and need to have infinite pathways to gear and loot to feed their addiction but why has the game transformed into World of Instancescraft. I want to play a WW Monk, but is my class ideal for 10+ Mythic over say a Enh Sham? Probably not. If I’m geared for the key LVL, and can handle myself well in high keys, I can’t get in because I didn’t throw my life away and strive for a +3k rating, or am not the preferred spec. I joined this expac a tad bit late, and I’m forced to pay the price for it.

Why can’t there be an increased cap on weekly raiding? I LOVE to raid. I HATE dungeons. So I’m pretty much forced to play once a week, or spend all my free time in dungeons I absolutely can’t stand for get crests.? It’s awful. Delves… AWFUL their so boring, and cap out with champ gear, and have barley any crests as you go up. Meanwhile… Mythic no life spammers get infinite access to crests and can gear a toon in days.

If it wasn’t for having a guild that’s chill af and making me look forward to raid days, I’d have just bounced ages ago. The track for solo play, or pickups has been completely destroyed. Nothing but snobby folks who kick because you died or didn’t know the fight etc… Or Fakes who abuse LFR to get carried, and exploit the boss kills for invites. How are you suppose to learn the fight if you never had the chance to learn it? Fortunantly you can just run the raids over n over without getting gear to learn the fights (which is what I did before finding a guild) but if I’m putting that time into learning the raid and repeating content (the same way dungeons lovers are) why am I not rewarded for it? Not everyone can just watch a youtube video and become masters. It’s the most toxic culture I’ve ever experienced in years.

It must be so thrilling to vest 20-30 minutes of time and be rewarded equally to people who put in hours when it comes to vault life.

The only saving grace for veteran raiders who don’t give af about mythic is the fact MoP’s dropping and I basically can raid log twice a week now.

tl;dr Mythics have destroyed my joy in wow, created a disgusting gatekeeping elitist community, and have speed tracked people to gear which I’d argue is EASIER (even though people struggle tremendously in high keys). Nobody wants to run the same content over and over and over and over and over …

This just in people who play the game at a higher level get into higher level content.

Making mythic plus drop mythic track would actually help with this…

WoW has a weird time gate on it that never existed before with the mythic track.

Well thats not the case in classic so you already have a classic toon

In what way? Because a player can for example spam dungeons for 2 weeks after delving to 650 and after 2 vaults, +10 drops and Crests, and crafts hit 660+ and play pretty much anything they want. How does Volume of play equal higher level?

ie: Player 1: 660+ Mythic+ player will get invited to raids based on Gearscore (but doesn’t actually know fights and gets to now enjoy Mythic raid content) and his odds of LFR access for PUGS have dramatically increased.

Player 2: Not 660 because he didn’t want to spam dungeons for ages gets on for 2 weeks, does the raid (in the same amount of time it took to spam dungeons for vault) ie: runs LFR → Hero → Mythic. Does vault, and crafts but has no pipeline to improvement. They’re forced to raid log or spam Mythic+

The crest distribution is completely botched and funnels you into one option.

You always had to run dungeons before you stepped into raid. I have no idea what you guys are complaining about with this.

WW is actually one of the best classes for weekly 10’s. If you’re not doing giant pulls WW will probably out perform a shaman.

But if you hate dungeons just raid. Clearing heroic and killing 1 or 2 mythic bosses every week will gear you just as fast as running 8 10’s in M+.

Grinding a billion crests to upgrade gear isn’t fun which is what the game is now.

I’d rather they just bring back gear vendors and do it like Wrath Classic and just put the good stuff on the vendor. You’ll get it eventually and don’t need to wait for a patch, a dinar, a rug pull, a monkey paw, a Dev flame out, nothing, just play the game and you get the item, no RNG.

You ran dungeons to get into raid, not Hero and Mythic.

Example: You weren’t getting into 25M H ICC because you spammed a ton of dungeons. Dungeons got you in the basic raid. Not heroic. Not Mythic. It took time and dedication.

Now you can just spam until you reach a 3K and out gear/outpace a dedicated raider because you get to flood your upgrades from crests or gear trades from high level keys.

If you play the game like a normal human being with a healthy life outside of the internet, you will get left behind and hover around 650-658, whatever the Heroic raid equivalent is for that season.

  1. Mythic raid isn’t accessible to you
  2. Mythic 10s aren’t fun to pug
  3. You play mostly solo outside of the raid
  4. Farming crests all day isn’t fun

There is no Mythic for these people. A lot of people can’t really even reach 675 crafts because they aren’t interested in acquiring 60 Gilded.
If your thing in this game is legacy content and farming, you’re not going to go get 60 Gilded, it ain’t happening.

Yes it did? You’re talking about when gearscore was here too lol. You didn’t need a guild in wrath. There were so many people playing. And wrath isn’t the only expansion.

Idk what you guys want them to do. Because we’re not going back to raidlogging. Atleast, raidlogging that early in a season.

Make the game more accessible. There’s been a billion threads per year with a billion suggestions how to fix Mythic raid. It’s falling on deaf, inept ears.

Which is wrong in my opinion and again reinforced my argument of gatekeeping players. Want to play our game like slaves?

I’ve completed mythic content in the past with no issues pretty much ever until this newer crap began with Mythic+ catering.

It would take a while due to being forced to raid log, but it was possible. Now I can spam a ton dungeons and get rewarded for what people spent week over week doing in half the amount of time.

If a friend joins the game, I’m going to tell them to just spam delves till 650, and then sell your soul to dungeons until your rating is up, and craft in the meantime. Don’t LFR, Don’t Hero raids, just spam crests till 660+ and enjoy the freeride.

Okay sure. What would that look like? Removing the lockout?

Nuking the difficulty is the only way to even begin “fixing” mythic. And they clearly don’t wanna do that. Oh well :person_shrugging:

raiding is not dead. let’s worry about fixing LFR and Normal, then heroic. then we can fix mythic.

I don’t have 3k rating and I play a spec that’s quite terrible in m+…and yet, somehow, I manage to get in groups no problem. You can hide behind excuses all you want but your attitude is holding you back more than your io or spec.

Except it is, I don’t even run keys and my ilvl is higher than yours when you do lmao.

+6s aren’t high keys and it often takes dozens of runs to chase 1 particular item. If you hate it, don’t do it.
