I hate it in live retail WOW and I hate it here. But here I needed to kill like 30-40 Kobolds just to collect 10 Gold Dusts.
Then play a different game
You’re really gonna hate the kill-collect quests that involve killing raptors to collect their heads, but the drop rate is 1-in-8 (7 of 8 raptors are headless). Or the zhevra hooves that are about 1-in-10 (effectively 1 hoof for every 40 zhevra legs). Etc.
Or the Boartusk liver. Where like every pig is missing its liver.
Boars battling alcoholism. Where’s your compassion?
Just wait 'til you have to collect 25 [Bloody Bone Necklace]s.
Get ready for winterfall spirit beads.
oh just wait til you have to collect Bear Asses
Protip: Skip all the cooking quests that require animal parts. At least in Fargodeep mine there’s copper ore, linen cloth and the chance for bag drops so it’s not all bad,=.
You’ll have to lodge an official complaint with Blizzard about it. In order to initiate it, you’ll need ten complaint tokens. You can find them in rats, located in your local restaurants. Good luck, brave paladin!
you’ll get loot and exp from those 40 mobs. And in classic you actually need those
you might find PvP or make a friend while you’re killing those kobolds
Also, the quest “FIFTY. YEP.”
I genuinely thought that if you dealt a crit or used an ability like execute on an enemy like a boar, that’s the reason why the liver wouldn’t drop since you ruined it with such an excessive blow.
Got stuck on Stolen silver didn’t you champ?
Dude…you show that quest some godddamn respect…It is given by quite possibly the GREATEST NPC in Vanilla WoW…“I’M THE ONLY SANE ONE HERE!” lol I love that guy
Uh, partner, I love the quest, and that NPC. I’m trying to scare OP off so there is more for me when I’m doing those quests again.
Just skip em
The key to the particularly tedious quests is to put them off and come back later when they’re green and the mobs are 4-5 levels lower than you. The killing goes much quicker, and you still get the same xp.
LOL I get ya That post was made more in sarcasm than anything. I LOVE that quest chain though. I can’t wait to get back to Searing Gorge to do that again when it’s actually a challenge (unlike in retail…hell I’m not even sure it’s IN retail anymore).
