there has always been things locked behind rep. this is no different. you don’t NEED any of these races to play wow. he could’ve made a normal draenei (which look almost exactly the same AND has better racials) and done the unlock.

Grinding gear is fine because its on a character the player wants to play. Telling someone they need to grind a couple months to play the character they want via a character they want to play less totally ignores player motivation.
Yes. I can tell you from personal experience it feels even more lousy actually trying to unlock it. I haven’t felt this burned since playing F2P MMOs in the late 2000’s. Its like they forgot about all the bad practices that sunk those F2P games. Designing grinds for grindings sake with no consideration of player motivation is a bad business practice. The mmo graveyard is full of reminders of that.
There we go using that word again, I’m really amazed Blizzard has such a legion of supporters who are totally ok with people being forced to do old content
the op makes threads about not wanting to play the game all the time. he mythic raids and thinks everything should just unlock automatically, i think. i haven’t gotten past the first few posts on most of his threads.

No one is forced to do old content. If there is stuff you want in old content you will have to do it to get it but you are in no way forced to do it.
i’ll say it here cuz i’m not going to your other thread and saying it there. ALTS DO NOT NEED BIS ESSENCES. if you are main changing you should put the same amount of work into your new main to get it caught up. essences shouldn’t just unlock because you want to change mains.
now as far as this thread goes… we can agree to disagree.
how odd, I just played the game and I had the reps for these all when they were introduced. Almost like they were rewarding people who pay them.

No it isn’t, you don’t have to have the Allied Races, you can play the game just fine without unlocking any of them. If you want them and they are not current you will have to do the old content to unlock them but you are not forced to do it.
And in the meantime you’ve done nothing. You shouldn’t even be allowed to post in here.

how would you feel if i got a 445 for killing a WQ mob? because for the casual player base unlocking things like allied races are the equivalent of your 445. if you have no issues with me getting mythic level gear for nothing because you already did it and it doesn’t need to be locked, then make a thread and i’ll give you a like.
I can’t even begin to understand the reasoning you’re coming from. I don’t care? Why would i care? It already happens with crazy warforging.

A better comparison would be “My friend wanted to level from 60 to 70 for BC but was forced to do Classic quests in Kargath”
he gets a free boost to 110 and once he’s 110 he can start the unlock. your post doesn’t even make sense. he’s given a free max level (for that content) character and all he has to do is some WQ. this is your argument not mine. he stopped playing because he didn’t want to do a week of WQ.
