I had no idea how FUN Evoker was!

Stepped my toe with Evoker and levelled it to 20 or so. But felt it was limited with cooldowns and essences. Especially Preservation. I absolutely was horrible as a healer. Everything was on cooldown whenever I tried to heal.

But I always liked dragons (being a long time Pern fan) and so I created a class trial, just to see what the full toolkit would look like.

Oh. My. Gosh!!! That is so fun!!! I’m playing Devastation right now, but am going to try Augmentation as I like being support.

My only worry is Preservation. I love being a Healer, but my first experience kind of scared me. I do see a better toolkit. I’ll give it a go tomorrow.

My own opinion but presvoker is by far the most fun healer spec.

I enjoyed Devastation for what little I played it on DF launch.
I just can’t do the Dracthyr form though.

My way of playing Prevoker is for five man groups, centered around keeping HoTs up.

I enjoy it. :slightly_smiling_face:

playing as a scalecommander dev evoker, it is so good. With 2 hovers and deep breath on a 1 min CD that resets my hovers, while damaging the mob and buffing bombardment is amazing.

I am almost 85% moving and shooting my laser breath. Bring in all the ways to get essence bursts, I am just going ham on lasers, moving around while doing it and also eternity surging while laser breathing.

Aye, hence I use chosen identity all the time. I’m only in my dracthyr form while in combat or when I use soaring. I love using soaring.

I can’t wait to not have to play as a lizard when and if that time comes

Best we can hope is them opening up the visage to other races.

I know this is a stupid thing to get caught up on in gameplay but I really don’t like Hover’s cast-while-moving effect. When that effect only has temporary uptime, it’s constantly tripping up my brain with “can I move or can’t I?” despite being able to see the damn flapping of their wings.

Arcane Missiles with its talent, or Scorch? I’m fine with that. But when the answer to “is this castable on the move?” is “sometimes”, it makes the whole mechanic frustrating. I WANT to like evoker but the combination of that and its 25 yard range makes the class feel so clumsy for me.

Easy way to figure out. Empowered, can’t cast while hovering. Everything else, hovering.

Also the 25 yard becomes less of an issue, at least for Dev evokers, when you master timeing hovers and deep breaths correctly. I am always moving and casting

I think you misread my post.

The bit I’ve done with devi was fun enough

Just the fact I’m stuck as lanky lizard makes me go nah

for one, its fun when the tank go go go easy dungeon, evoker can grab and fly the slowest member some distance forward

or fly the tank some distance backward if evoker wants to make a point

so far enjoying evoker gameplay too

They seem like an interesting class. Happy to hear you are having fun!

Augmentation is awful in anything other than competitive small group content. You’re handicapping yourself and infuriating others by playing it.

People outwardly groan when an Augmentation Evoker joins a LFD group or LFR due to their abysmal performance. People perform awfully at most levels except for endgame as Augmentation which makes it arguably the worst DPS in the game to level.

I wouldn’t be surprised if people are abusing the vote kick system to remove them most times.

Same, Emiliette.

I fell in LOVE with Augmentation this season. I cannot stop playing it, and I’m considering making it my main in season 2 (which is huge for me. I don’t often swap main specs and I adore Resto Druid beyond reason).

But my guild has a handful of people who really want to try healing, so I’m considering stepping out of their way for the next raid tier so someone else can try.

In comes Augmentation, and I just freaking LOVE IT.

I don’t care for preservation healing, but that is entirely personal preference. It feels like it’s missing something for me, and the whole “ranged is behind me, melee is in front me” situation feels very awkward and will take a lot of readjustment to learn proper positioning.

If you’re new to healing altogether, however, and you don’t already have healer habits…preservation might be a blast for you.

Augmentation truly is a lot of fun, and it sucks knowing that some players want it removed.

I’m hoping we can get more specs like Aug in the near future.

No it isn’t.

No it doesn’t.

Remove Aug.

Evoker’s the only healer I haven’t tried yet. Aug being top tier in M+ is also kind of annoying but beneficial in the long run.

Alright I lied, I haven’t tried Shaman either. Can’t say I have much interest. Being a dragon thing sounds awful and Shaman… I can’t bring myself to.

Here’s to Holy Paladin being top tier next season.

On a side note: Priest should get a 4th spec called Disc-Support or something. Give Aug a challenger. Or kill the spec as a “support” role completely. Game didn’t need it. Still doesn’t.
