They are “Special invites”. Some have been invited without ever having played wow, so they couldn’t have possibly been subbed (which is a requirement to be considered). Some never even had battle.net installed, nor a blizzard account, nor played a blizzard game, but managed to be invited.
I have no problem allowing streamers to have access to beta because it is good marketing. What I have a problem with is blizzard requiring an active sub, as well as other criteria, e.g: Account age, amount of time subbed, etc etc., to be (((considered))) for an invite to the beta, meanwhile giving people who have never installed a blizzard game access.
The sub is required for us to be considered. But is not required for certain people because they happen to stream. This wouldn’t be a big deal if sub requirements weren’t in place, but they are. So I hope you can see why some people feel like blizzard is shtting on its customers.

Pokimane has an active sub, she plays BFA. She has 3 millions subscribers, primarily plays fortnight and does ASMR work.
So giving her beta access here is a no brainer. As far as target demographics she hits a lot of them as a lot of her subs are young males, who like games and sexy-talking young gals. So if 1% of her subs try WoW Classic then we gain 30k subs.
Not a bad deal.

I mean, she is an influencer on a large platform with a large viewer base. Chances are, you are going to keep playing, but she has the ability to bring in old players or new ones through her platform. Its marketing 101

IF your so pissed off at streamers getting keys just contact these people and send them clips of asmondgold calling people trash humans who suck and soda saying people are “mentally ill” but using more offensive terms. Everyday there are clip channels that catch all of this stuff its easy to link.
