I guess I dont understand

All the forum champions will say L2P… but really… Im just trying to understand how this is better? It feels like a different flavored turd popsicle.

In BFA, yeah there were issues… but the pacing was one that you were able to learn. I went from not playing in nearly a half decade… to Rival in a single season (playing MW/UDK/Arms… S1, turbo was king with fury, and there were like 4 UDK on the ladder because UDK was “so bad” and I think my teammate… well… he was the only arms in wow). But I got 3-4 more friends to join and enjoy the game. Yeah… there were issues with broken trinkets… and all that… but nothing was overly punishing. But now… nope. Need to learn the game? Good luck. You have to have twitch-skills to live through so many one button abilities. And being successful in arenas… maybe pushing rating to even 1600? You have to play near perfect defense to string arena wins. So many games it feels like we lost because… we didn’t play perfectly defense… and less because they were more skilled.

For instance, there are so many 1-2 button wins… where you don’t have to be skilled to kill, they just have to be skilled to not die. It seems… dumb. I mean, I have instant stunned a convoke, because I knew it was coming… and still died immediately to double 22k+ SSs. Was it lucky he got two of them off immediately,… in under a second? Yes… is that good gameplay? Not in my worthless opinion (that was for you forum heroes). Or instant death from double rogue dagger in the dark out of stealth? Prot paladin, guardian-convoke out of stealth… better hope that the druid is retarded and his angle is bad or you gotta have lightning reflexes and good, no, excellent team coordination to survive. Seems kinda… stupid. This is pvp balance? This is fun? I get that people cried that AWC was boring to watch in BFA, that arenas were too slow because of the trading game… but that’s just how it was… dismantle your opponent to kill them… this is… press one or two buttons and watch the team all hit defensives and trinkets… make them scramble to live. Also… there is no change in pace at the top… they still go to deep damp… they still counter perfectly. So what was the net gain?

Literally, no one else thinks this is a bit ridiculous? I mean, my friends, girlfriend… (military so scattered around the country and from different walks of life) are always like… “Wow… wtf, I just insta-died.” Not one of us is really enjoying it… and we are currently 7 strong… we were 9… but lost two… and now I feel that the rest are going to cancel the sub too… the gameplay is so fast and killing is too easy. I feel that going from pushing 2k each season… to getting randomly one tapped by someone that wouldn’t ever be able to beat me (or my team) once in 1000 games in BFA… sucks. All because I’m 3 steps from a pillar, instead of 1, or because I pre-walled the go, but get smashed in 1.7 seconds anyway… (which seems to be the magic number for so many 100-0 deaths according to my details). This seems like Activision just wants to make wow-COD.

Oh, asking new friends to play? Pvp gearing… gawd awful. They actually were so stoked to be 60… learning to play wow pvp… but then instantly dead in 2 secs whether bg or arena. Both unsubbed after 60… the catchup mechanics… are non-existent. Really… at 8100 conquest… say you want to grind it out in arenas… good luck… you only have to win 300+ games in 2s… literally… to cap. Don’t have a 3s team? You wont get one… the LFG is toxic af… and people wont take you with anything less than 200ilvl gear… and most of the time they wont take you there either. Don’t get me wrong, this fast combat has made me a way better player… but I had a good base to start on… really… (we were good at doing dmg and setting up cc… but often tanked more damage than we should have… we have learned to run in SL) had I these skills in bfa… Im pretty confident I could have pushed my rating another 200-300 or better… but for a new player… good luck. (Don’t get me wrong… I wasnt a fan of the corruption… or other dumb shizz Blizz managed to do - but the pacing… went from slow… to wtf).

I am a bit salty… I will admit… maybe its because these “previously barely make 1400 players” can kill me… where, before, they wouldn’t ever have a chance at all. (I play Rdruid… because… it’s more fun for me to play the class that I enjoy,… and lose more often, than to play the class that is strong but I don’t like as much and win a lot more - and I have played meta classes and it just… got boring to me… like ret pal… super strong… but I was like… where are all my other buttons… this is like a 4 button rotation… and I feel like a “rahtard” playing it - but that’s MY personal opinion on playing them -if you enjoy it, cool… have fun doing what you enjoy) .

Maybe it’s time I hang it up too… I just don’t get it… so many gimmicks… but really… I’m just trying to gain perspective… is it fun because average to bad players can now score kills easily? Therefore… the fast-frag playstyle appeals to them? Do you guys think that this is the pace for all of SL? For the rest of wow? I know no one “knows.” but Im just curious what the predictions are.

It’s way punishing for new players. I’d rather they increase the rate of dampening but tone down the burst and buff sustained.

I don’t like losing in the first minute and it makes healing pugs unbearable

Sorry but the previous metas were incredibly stale 50 minute damp fests with an insane about of keybinds/CDs for every class, imo this new meta is much better because it’s much easier for viewers to follow and lowers the barrier of entry for new players.

Interesting… considering the data shows the opposite. Arena participation is at an all time low.

I can only speak for myself. I’m a multi-rank one and I find this season to be very refreshing and fun, because decision making and CD management has never been so important. This season is like 7-D chess in that way, it really rewards you for being one, two, three steps ahead of your opponent.

Mistakes are incredibly punishable now, which, I think, is a good thing.

I think it depends. Blizzard did mention they were toying with the idea of WoD scaling gear, which I was never a huge fan of, as I found in jarring and alienating, but If that does return, I think it would slow down the game a lot.

PS: On a different note, Ellipses are not commas or periods. In many cases, they slow down the reader, like here:

Do your self a favor and put that dude on ignore like every one else has. Hes just a dumb troll who obviously has nothing else going on in his life lmao.

Glad you learned this, you’re 1 of the culprits in the past that would feed/argue with these people and have long debates with.

Ya out of good faith in the scenarios someone else might potentially read it (for example when giving feedback)

They can easily seem like they’re not trolling to an outsider so it’s a lose/lose if you want some legitimate feedback

Ofc that has no value anymore at this point anyways

BLOOMSDAY TAKING THE TROLLING TO THE NEXT LEVEL BOYZ

You are welcome to believe whatever you want. Luckily for me, it doesn’t take away my accomplishments.

Anything constructive or thought-provoking to add to my reply or no?

It feels like it’s gotten worse lately. Maybe less people are posting or they are posting more but it feels like at least one of them is in every single thread.

They have nothing to offer.

Every time they get outsmarted they make comments like these:

When none of us are trolling.

If people want to actually get better at the game then they need stop denying the burst meta, it’s here to stay for good. The sooner they can accept that, the better imo :man_shrugging:

booo switch back to stoneformbtw

this new toon is boring

Also a lot lower effort I feel.

They post an absurd amount per day. Like forum memes aside, it’s legit bordering on some sort of compulsion or addiction at this point. Getting sad now.

For reference: I have around 93 days visited on this character and 1400 posts, which is kind of a lot.

R1b has under twenty days and 1000 posts…and they’ve been posting on other characters as well

Is it just me or did stoneformbtw actually kill arena forums

I got no shame, I think BFA had a ton of issues, so did legion, but both were better than SL so far. I think SL has the potential to turn things around but yeah… and even overall as an expansion comparing 7.0-7.0.5, 8.0-8.0.5 and 9.0-9.0.5, SL’s intro patch and 9.0.5 are significantly less exciting than Legion and BFA’s first patch cycles.

You mean, THE sociopath. It’s one troll running the strings of alts. He loves replying to himself too, which is amusing.
