I got every healer to 1800..Here's what I found

After slugging through a ton of games of BM hunterand nerve-wracking finishes, I’ve finally achieved my goal. I set out to get every healer to 1800 Friday, starting with RShaman, and I’ve finally completed my task.

Surprisingly, I found the non-meta healers to be more enjoyable. Maybe because I saved the best for last, and I was already burnt out at that time. Basically, I would shoot up to 1800 mmr and then it happened…

3-3 3-3 3-3 3-3 3-3 3-3

Over and over and over. It was a nightmare. I’m not sure if this is great matchmaking, inconsistent play from everybody involved, or luck of the draw.

Eventually after banging my head against the wall for 7-8 lobbies, I’d get a sweet 5-1 which would push me up past 1800 to get Rival!

Healing is a sh1tty job. I’d rather not sit in long queues though /shrug. Blizz needs to address that

Edit: Oh 1 more thing. Can you guess who the worst healer is? It’ll surprise you!!! EVOKER

But did you ever die as a Disc Priest? That’s the data I’m interested in.

eeyy, i had the same goal, got it done like 3 weeks ago and have no interest in playing the game anymore. BLITZ needs work AND MMR need improvements. I also tried to hit 1950, got to 1949 and kept losing so many games in row and gave up lol. I was placed in 1600 lobbies while i was rated 1800. So losing would cost me over 20+ points.

Actually, I lied. I got my holy paladin in solo shuffle to 1800 pretty quickly, i just couldn’t take BLITZ anymore

hey I’m here to remind you about the dog from doug with my profile picture

also, how can you make a post like this and not give us a numbered list of what specs were most enjoyable from top to bottom?

rofl, what? You got jokes.

tbf prevoker is legitimately kinda hard to play and they have shotty cooldowns. Rewind is utter garbage, for instance.

If the playing field is even at an average rating, I too would expect prevoker to be one of the least rated healers

also you gotta play a goofy looking dragon

Allow  Evokers  to  stay  in  Visage  permanently

They literally added special animations so Dracthyr of other classes could do so, but then snubbed Evokers, who’ve been asking for that very feature since DF beta. Ugh.

For real. There’s no way to make them look decent at all.

The fact you can’t transmog means you’re pidgeonholed into what Blizzard thinks they should look like. And Blizzard thinks they should look ABSOLUTELY GOOFY.

It’s impossible to customize a cool looking Evoker.

If they lifted the transmog restrictions, which I’m sure they will never do, the spec would be a bit more playable.

Hey Doug - Here you go good boi

  1. MW
  2. RDruid
  3. RShaman(totemic)
  4. HPriest
  5. Hpal
  6. Evoker

TBF i haven’t done disc yet(Because I got the set from doing HPriest) but I’m sure it’d probably be mid

The W in MW is real
I also think it’s one of the funner healers to play, it just feels good

We have an almost 1:1 rating of healers (not that I pushed to 1800 on them, but tried them at various times), but I’d place Evoker above. Hpal seems to be most boring healer out there and I don’t see how it could be above Prevoker who actually does things

Evoker felt underpowered in the throughput department. Most of my success came upon just rushing the enemy teams and winning games in the first minute(BIG DAM)

It was easily the most frustrating healer to play in shuffles though. Having to chase your team around in order to do any healing. Having DPS line you while you’re rooted(PROT WAR ROOTS NEED GONE’D)

Admittedly it’s fun when it works, as in the whole team runs in and plays aggro, but half the time in shuffle I’d lose while me and 1 dps where on the other teams pillar meanwhile Timmy 2 brain cells warlock ports to our pillar and dies across the map

I expect Pres to be due for buffs, starting by reverting early season nerfs

I think the chrono flames on empower spells was a dumb design choice. They could leave the damage portion of that nerfed and increase the healing. I’d hope for a dream breathe heal increase or maybe even buff reversion a little.

It feel like when stasis and communion are down it’s just GG…better hope you killed them, ccd the healer, purged the dps, and stunned their whole team into a fat tip fire breathe(not necessarily in that order)

I don’t have a lock, but if I did this would be me good ole Timmy2 with an obligatory “healer sux” thrown in to distract myself from my own terrible play.

But for real, watching a couple of Mysticall youtubes made MW look really fun. You say you’d estimate disc “mid” so around rsham levels, but below rdruid and well below MW?

I’m sure disc will suffer from sort of the same issue Evoker has in Shuffle, having passive partners. When you’re running in for fat fears, purging dps, doing big penance into your schism target it’s going to feel fun

But eventually you’ll run out of gas because people dont know how to close out games. So you’ll get a few rounds that drag on for 3 minutes where your whole teams just dead and you never regain momentum

Again, this stems from people being wildly Inconsistent at 1800 shuffle. Not to mention all the BM hunters, Dev evokers, and Fury warriors who dominate that level of play because they can do the most with the least amount of brain activity

Right on, appreciate the input. I keep fence sitting q’ing heals on either monk or priest, hesitant mainly because it’s been since like… hell whenever holy priest had chakras whatever xpac that was. Mainly just looking to be able to actually play, as I can’t tell you the number of times this xpac I’ve just lost patience and logged out when the queue goes past 12-15minutes as dps.

I’ve got a monk and priest that I could q on, which would you say is more … forgiving? I’m not looking for easy rating, my check-pvp will tell you I just don’t care like my life revolves around it, but rather something that I wouldn’t feel overwhelmed learning on. Honestly when I look at the action bars after I was done setting them up for both MW and Disc, my action bars seemed waaaaay more jam-packed on the MW. (spec’d as purely caster MW btw - I have no business pushing in for sporadic melee dam/healing as FW, definitely don’t have the situational awareness to be doing much more than PVE healing, at least to start)

MW with CJL build(jadefire teachings + jade empowerment) is very fun and pumps dam+heals. I’d say it’s probably the best noob friendly healer now, supplanting HPal after their recent nerfs(still have great CDs)

Disc was fun(and overtuned) at the start of the expansion, but that train has sort of left the station. Still can pump damage though which is not anything to sneeze at, but now MW can too

Your just vsing terrible discs btw. At 1800 start of the season disc you were vsing proper cd rotating discs, now these people either stopping playing at 2100 due or nothing more or are between 2200-2400 so you just have terrible rerollers (disc has had 0 nerfs the entire season only buffs).

Right on, appreciate it. Yeah I think that’s the build I was gonna go with to start. I know it’s a thankless job, and honestly watching the way some players talk to and treat healers makes it look entirely unappealing haha. I’ve eaten 2 (deserved) silences for just teeing off on a couple of hunters who were just (incorrectly) bashing the healers all game - people just be vile to healers like damn. But, like I said, I also just wanna play and the insta queues of healers does look appealing. 100% I’ve logged out while in queue due to inpatience way more than I’ve actually accepted queue, which makes logging in in the first place feel like a total waste of time.
