i really wanted a tank pet because my cat was not working great for me.
i got a crab and found it only can use claw. however, i love the way it looks and fights.
is it really bad that it doesnt have 2 different attacks. when i went to petopia i found its modifiers are actually better than turtles and bears.
does different attacks actually make it better
Claw is better than Bite, so if the pet only has one, it’s the better one.
Either way though, while leveling, just use what you find most fun.

Debatable as far as leveling is concerned. Claw uses more focus, so if you have it on autocast, your pet will often be unable to growl for lack of focus, and the mob will be attacking you instead of your pet.
Bite>claw for standard use. Claw is best for a pure dps pet such as a cat. Go tame a wolf in mulgore and use it until you learn bite yourself. Then stable/abandon it and get a boar. Have the boar use charge, growl, and bite. It’ll be perfect for solo leveling and work well in dungeons.
Get a crab and name it Citizen Snips

There are better pets, but any of them will function if you really like it. I used a red crab in vanilla for a while, because it looked cool.
i have been using the crab all day and i really like it. it has no problems going against an enemy 3 and 4 levels above it. it doesnt lose aggro as long as i wait until it gets its first hit.
i like it much more than the cat i was using. he looks cool too. i got the one petopia calls BRONZE. i love the green on his back. i love it

Learn claw and bite and then teach those to your cat. With growl turned off in groups pets have enough enough focus to use both
If you are using growl you can just go with claw solo unless u spec bm for more focus, in which case use claw and bite on cat

I’ve always loved Boar’s as a pet.
I find turtles to be the best tanking pets since it has that shell ability, and bite takes less focus than claw which leaves enough focus for growl.
Could be good if you’re leveling as marks. As a bm I need a higher dps pet because my shots and stings are wimpy
Use what you like. But the problem with crabs is they dont have dash or dive and they help speed up getting to things fast. If you pvp that speed will get to the people running from you.
