I have been a warlock main since i started playing this game, i still love my afflic warlock but im having morr fun playing a Blood DK for now
Demo lock is the most fun I’ve had in this game since I mained BM hunter in Legion. The lack of instant spells can be annoying when you’re constantly having to move during some boss fights but I was playing BM before this which is super mobile so maybe I’m just spoiled lol
Ur trippin u have gate gate speed increase port speed but also gate… u can literally curse of ehaustion if sometbin targetted u nd never get hit… u can fear not in all situations aoe stun 2 if ur destro… 2 stuns on top of aoe stun as demo… … so u can fear as demo n then stun so it doesnt pull group… u guy’s all say demo has no kick… u have 3 stuns to kick and coil that u can use as a kick… the pet stuns if the enemy cant be stunned it interrupts cast instead… nd affl i mean ok its not great in pve but ALSO… u can level up a DH n have half blue vs half like honor vs conquest gear nd u will still do more on the which the reason why is locks literally always every damm new start the cheeks locks cryhl bout how bad they are… mfer if u played lock from like vanilla to now… you need more gear… higher gear scales more ur dps goes up… vs like melee rhat have a ton of base damage evem when not as geared… locks have literally ALWAYS pvp n pve shined more so later in th3 season or as u get more and more pve gear you end up passing 80% of the ladder if not at lesst 1 spec goes to high A if not S… example s1 2 sl locks were meh but what happened 3 nd 4 when gear got more nd more stats… locks recked absolutely destroyed. Yall either b smokin some dope or youre just bad at lock. I play the “horrible specs” just for people like you cuz i love it when you put your lock awwy nd reroll meta melee or whatever is meta at the time… nd then i take a dump on you nd you feel bad cuz yourr like well damn am i just bad nah he had 2 more ilvl thwn me so course he shouldve raped me… ohnah he just got a lucky game we’ll smack em of we get em again… so th3n i gotta put u in the ground again nd now ur playin mr op reroll managed to get maybe like 100 to 200 more rating so from 16 hard stuck on lock now ur at 1850 hard stuck on S tier class what do you come up with then?? Oh its my team i can nevee find good teammates… its ok bro u cant juke kicks u cant keep ur dots up or ur demo rotation right idk how u guys ever up destro but somehow u make the easiest lock spec look hard lmao
Troll. Your wall of text reads like garbage.
You’re not supposed to eat the glue stick.
Sorry, but I could not read the rest of the post after this nonsensical ramble.
I’m sure there are some important tidbits of information in that block of text, but it needs some serious proofreading before any of us waste our time with it.
Idk man locks are pretty great.
Demo is good in M+.
Both of these things are how/what you play, so keep on enjoying it.
My main is a rogue and I wanted to try a caster so started leveling a warlock. So far he’s level 67 and I absolutely hate having to take my eyes away from the environment and mechanics to watch the stupid little buff bar squares to know when a proc occurs so I can click malefic or some other important spell.
And I don’t want some overbloated addon just for that. Seriously, how freaking hard can it be to program a big red square that flashes when malefic occurs? You gave us two large semi circles that make it obvious when nightfall procs. Time to do the same for malefic and other spells.
I have had a ton of fun with lock this season so far, my damage doesn’t feel awful I’m keeping up with most people besides terros. But dungeons I’ve been fantastic damage constantly and it’s really fun for all 3 specs though I’ve played demo the most in dungeons.
It has some inherently bad design decisions, like Wilfreds (grand warlocks design) should’ve been the capstone in our main tree over soul keeper and that eye it just literally feels like all 3 specs are designed to have that cdr (tune numbers if it’s too much damage gameplay > numbers), 30% increase drain life speed is such a boring capstone when you look at the fact mages get a second lust in their capstone class tree. Maybe put Kj’s cunning over it and move that somewhere else? (Perhaps over amp curse since curses are used so seldomly that no one really uses it). Also dread touch and siphon life are awful redesign or remove them imo.
And all the bugs are an issue, I’m still not getting soul shards sometimes from pre casted shadow and demon bolts.
Overall I don’t think being low on damage is what killing lock for you man, it’s the design of the game the dungeons and raids have all been design to greatly punish casters cause there is so much movement especially tiny micro movements in dungeons that makes demo better since you’re swimming in instant casts.
You do if you want to be invited to any groupage
Been there, done that. I am not sure what you all get out of playing an expansion over again to be honest.
Follow up: rolled a warrior. Did a guild alt raid (N) at ilvl 380ish, parsed blue/purple (@ ilvl) on most fights with orange on 2 of them. 2pc charity tier. Admittedly very little idea on how to play the class.
AOE DPS was equivalent or a bit above what my 4pc 405 Demo does, with slightly improved ST. Looking forward to seeing what happens with some actual ilvl and 4pc.
PS: anyone who says “melee is harder!” is absolutely wrong. This DOES NOT HOLD IN DF! I saw no difference in “mechanics oppression” AT ALL. I had to move a bit LESS than I did at range (who knew melee didn’t get Grimtotem fire circles?!?!?) and the difference in uptime was like nite and day. RUN IN and RUN OUT are replaced with “scoot over”. It’s also very nice to get heals from all these “melee healers” instead of rotting to death at range.
Needless to say, I’m converted. See y’all in melee!
So you dont have ANY alts? Cause leveling an alt, period, is replaying an expansion.
On that note my entire 50 cap limit is almost reached so …
I’m just not feeling it anymore.
All the other casters are visually more satisfying.
They pull better numbers.
Have more mobility.
Their talent trees are more versatile. Seriously, the only genuine option on the entire left side of our tree is Eye / Jailer, and both of them suck.
List goes on.
I’ve narrowed it down to Hunter & DK as a replacement.
I notice with my “melee” sub rogue, I have less idiotic chains of abilities I need to forcefully use in a specific order before I have a small chance of a proc occuring. The sub rogue can straight up pump its top damage with the creation of one or two swifty macros. The stars, moon, and every planet in the milky way don’t need to align before I can ideally do damage. If we were able to swifty macro a few more abilities as an affliction lock, it wouldn’t be so bad. But they need to remove a few global cooldowns for that to happen.
Is it like that for all melee?
And good players look at damage done on that add or phase, not the entire fight, where the packing of damage in a short window (at least for demo) is extremely powerful.
This is my first expansion really “maining” a warlock and it’s been a lot of fun. I don’t like affliction at all so I’ve been playing destruction/demo. Both really good specs
I literally couldn’t read this. I got into about 3 sentence fragments and gave up.
I feel like we’re living in a different universe here. Demo is top top tier on Raszageth. It has everything you need (burst, cleave, movement friendly rotation, tankiness).
Nether portal a shield and tyrant the other two. We’re one of the few specs that can burst all three, and it’ll send us to the top of the damage meters.
