I get maintaining the classic feel, but give Prot Paladins a Taunt

Are you saying that Prot Paladin isn’t a tank? Because…it is…

Probably going to have to wait to tbc or classic+. They are probably not going to rebalance anything classic…lol.

“Just quit”. Wow. Get over yourself.

I think at the surface this sounds reasonable, but could start a bad cycle.

Give paladins a taunt. But why can’t druids have a normal resurrect? Give them a normal rez. Now they have a normal rez and a brez.

Now why can’t other classes that can normal rez, brez? Give those appropriate classes a brez.

This concept can be applied to many spells and abilities, and I believe if we followed this concept, a lot of the original nature of classic WoW would be altered.

This is why people get autistic about no changes. In this game’s case the slippery slope is real. Look at retail. I think it’s best to talk about a classic + with changes some time after phase 6.

This is incorrect. An argument is not a slippery slope fallacy merely because it relies on one thing leading to another. There must be a lack of causal relationship between the things. In this case we’ve outlined a very clear causal chain with precedents and motivation.

I resent that, I play a druid.

No each change does not need to be, and is not likely to be, evaluated on its own terms. The fact that the previous change was made definitely does bear on the next change.

No one is claiming that the next change must be influenced solely by the previous change’s existence.

They shouldn’t make any changes like that and I’m a pally tank at heart. Best to just pretend ret/prot doesn’t exist in Classic. If you want to tank, just roll druid/warrior.

That said, when they do TBC, I’m instantly rolling protadin.

I hate the slippery slope argument. Might as well keep everything garbage cause things can happen when you make useful changes.

if you’re a paladin in classic. you are either a healer (which you should be) or a 5man tank. those are your options. take them or leave.

And this was the start of the slide that is now called retail. All classes wanted something and wanted to be balanced.

There’s no point to have classes if they are all the same.

If “everything is garbage” then why do you play? There are so so many other game options for you to choose from. Or maybe get crazy and choose something that isn’t a video game.

Sheesh, a whole lotta words when #nochanges would have worked.

Wait till TBC if you want to tank Raids as a Paladin.

Things DID happen when useful changes were made. A slippery slope fallacy would require some ignoring of the assurance those WOULDNT happen again.

We did. For a decade.

And your point is? Why did you come back to “everything is garbage”?

I’m now presuming to know her position because I don’t hold it. She is back because even garbage is better than starving.

You are correct in regards to an argument that includes things other than one thing leading to another (that is, if there was an established causal relationship, an additional concern that subsequent changes could/would occur wouldn’t render the argument fallacious).; in the post I was responding to, however, the argument was that allowing this one change would, in and of itself, “justify” more changes, which is a slippery slope argument.

I don’t play prot paladin.
