In the game or irl?
Man, that sucks.
This happened.
The escort of ruul in ashenvale was the worst for us. We were doing it and then it layered to a group of 3 that was also doing ruul in the exact same spot we were in. It wasn’t clear if they layered to us or we layered to them and the quest did not fail. Did the whole escort to find out it wasn’t our layer anymore.
We did not go back for ruul after that but I was pretty sad about it.
We had it first in Season of Discovery.
It worked so well (except it didn’t) that they pushed now to the 20th anniversary.
Honestly, I’m worried to group up for escorts too. There’s too much crazy layering going on to trust the process.
I got layered on the Redridge escort out of the cave. Layered right into another group doing it about half way out of the cave.
People getting layered out of zones in thin air. For no reason. I feel like I’m playing with ghosts
Being on an escort quest (that isn’t failed) should give you anti-layer protection, please blazzard
At those point we need to go back to single layer across the world. Not this zone to zone sharding stuff. It’s ruining the open world and experience
Wasn’t layering supposed to be temporary in 2019?
I personally think it’s mostly fine. I play on pvp-nightslayer and I see the same people all the time. Ran into in dustwallow the same players I saw in 1k needles.
I just think it’s falling apart for quests where you need to stay on the same layer you started it.
LOL I was talking about SoD.
In 2019 people farmed thousands of Black Lotuses with layering.
No layer CD, even a low server like Kirtonos had like 10 layers.
Idk. I’ve had problems with it. Would prefer the original layering. It wasn’t an issue.
I had a few issues with the new system
no I prefer the system we have now. I’m just saying it can be improved
Looks like we disagree on this one.
Oh well. Maybe I’m just too much of a OG style player
I like the larger scale battles and world experience. Not the hyper zoned areas where people vanish and such
Yeah I remember that part. Just trying to remember if Blizzard sold us layering as a temporary solution to overpopulation or if was very vague. I remember a majority of the community preferred one single open world because that was an element of the game that retail had removed. Eventually people just accepted layers as apart of Blizzard’s modus operandi. Maybe I’m not remembering things correctly.
I really think most people still do. Or at least, most classic players that will still be around once the hype cools off.
There’s certainly an element of bandwagoning, but a lot of these people are here to stay. Classic Era received a massive population boom during Ulduar since many people realized that’s where WoW progressed too far for them and returned back to Classic Era. They just don’t have the discipline to not ask Blizzard to change stuff or want their own idealized version of the game.
Our only hope are Blizzard selling community server licenses so we can host exactly what we want, and the quality will speak for itself.
