Why can’t I mail my Alliance alts gold?
Are my characters sentient? Do they hate each other? Do they fight when i’m not looking?

Yeah, they fight the faked faction war fight.
They’re fighting while you’re offline. It’s brutal.
(I feel you though l am Alliance main but I love this particular character because it’s the first I did raiding/group content on).
My Horde and Alliance characters are related so they aren’t fighting.
Honestly allowing it would just push towards more slippery slope arguments of unifying the factions / making them able to play together which I absolutely despise.
Honestly I think the game should have started where you pick a faction and your entire account gets locked into that faction permanently.
I believe this was the case for Classic PvP servers, in an attempt to keep them balanced.
Yeah, it was great in my opinion. I know a lot of people disagree and say stuff like “B-but you’re only getting HALF the game by playing one faction” which is completely false considering a LOT of quests are more or less the same thing with different wording “Kill 10 horde players” is “kill 10 alliance players” etc.
I just see WoW kind of like sports players see sports I think. I’ve been rooting for the horde since the get go, It’s my team!

Since the AH isn’t faction specific anymore, I’m not too sure why sending mail to your characters would be an issue.
my 19 horde characters fight and “bip” my only alliance female night elf character every time I go offline
Cross-faction money laundering is possible, but it takes a trusted intermediary to pull off.
Step One: Intended Recipient posts a semi-bogus auction. Say, a single piece of light leather for a hundred thousand gold.
Step Two: Trusted Intermediary on your own faction buys the auction.
Step Three: You reimburse Trusted Intermediary. (Steps Two and Three can be swapped.)
Probably a holdover from before the factions’ Auction Houses were linked. I wonder if they could change it now or if it’s one of those things that would break 18 other things because it was coded so long ago and been buried in a pile of garbage.
Your characters are trying to steal each other’s loot.
I can’t see any legitimate reason why you can’t send mail to all your own characters on the same server.
Simple to do with two accounts.
