I finally understand why people leave a mythic+ key

I wouldn’t let this discourge you too much, I pug alot and for the most part it goes well. I wouldn’t focus too much on what others did wrong, but how you can improve to avoid disaster.
I found that an addon called " Premade Group Finder" and a WA “Dungeon RIO and Class” goes along way.

I have found that joining a group that already has a tank and healer often sorts most of the problems out, as they set the tone of the group dynamic, i preffer a tank or healer with a BREZ as that is utlitiy a mage does not bring. I also wouldnt suggest a double mage group ( unless they are friends) as you will run into kick issues and quaking doesn’t help casters. You can also filter out groups that already have a mage.

A tank pulling singles packs isnt a problem at a 14 level at the end of a patch, if your
team is having problems its likely due to the kicks or the affix. One person not being optimized shouldn’t be much of an issue aswell, I was doing 14’s well before i had a leggo and I can can say, when farming valor or renown, i have at times, brought the wrong leggo and still creamed the key.

I believe this is also why they added the timed vs completed goal option. Expect leavers in a timed advertised group if things dont pan out.

Hope this helps, Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

For me there’s a certain point at which boomkins start to do good but frost mages have just always been trash for me. Is really annoying.

that’s exactly it. the problem is that the people complaining about “leavers” don’t necessarily see the issues. they think the key is going fine because they don’t have the experience or situational awareness to understand what a disaster it’s going to be.

i had a 20 NW that fell apart on the first boss some months ago. one of the dps didn’t pick up an orb at all. one of them picked up an orb and then stood out at range the entire fight. after the tank bailed, the second dps said “well, at least i know i did everything perfectly”. that’s the problem, and it’s why GD posters think so many people leave runs that are going soooooooo smoothly.

I think this is the one area where paid carries is a problem.
I can get a loan and buy a performance car…but that dont make me a good driver.
I dont care if others buy carries, but its just wrong to then blow someone elses run because I dont have the skill to match the gear.

Cold hard cash.

I don’t love people running around with CE mounts who are not CE players but it isn’t the biggest deal in the world to me. I really don’t care for jumping through a bunch of hoops to make sure the 2k rating or 10/10 CE player actually has any idea of what they are doing. Sure when putting together raid groups I can look up their logs but it sure is a heck of a lot easier to not have to and be able to trust the kills they have are legit. Checking logs isn’t exactly perfect either, miss out on some fine players trying to check raid logs for m+ with not all good m+ players raiding.

this doesnt decide a failed timer for a 14.

the group sucking is why the timer fails regardless of how much is pulled at that level.

see, its groups like these that we need a vote to abandon.

we need a penalty for leaving active keys. players can vote to abandon it prior to the timer running out.

there are legitimate reasons to stop a key run. the problem is that most people complaining about key leavers, this kind of stuff isnt really happening. not to this extent. the leavers are just entitled crybabies not getting what they want.

That’s what I was thinking.

True, but I’ve seen some people lazily offspec with dead leggos. I had an Rdruid just the other day go Kyrian, empower herself and then just play the fast convoke legendary and just be not terribly useful the whole run.

Oh, yeah. In general I feel like you can get pretty high pulling one pack at a time, maybe two if you’ve got cds and know it’ll be smooth.

Don’t worry.

The Horde will carry you in 9.2.5.

The Horde will save you.

Cross faction will solve this problem.

I remember in BFA when I loved M+. I did just enough to get KSM this season and quit. Really hope dungeons are better next expansion.

What’s your issue with the current ones?

The biggest thing they’ve done from what I can tell is move away from speed running and tried to make dungeons into miniature raids, for better or worse.

“Straight cash, homie.”

I don’t like the feel of them. I don’t think they are hard or anything like that, I just compare them to the BFA set and find them lacking severely.

Waycrest Manor was amazing. I loved Tol Dagor, SoB, Kings’ Rest, Freehold, hell all of them were good except Underrot (again, the feeling being in them is important to me).

Minus the Revendreth dungeons, I hate all of them. Spires is probably the worst dungeon ever made. I just can’t get into them. I did about 3 weeks of M+ in August and it was more than enough. Sucks too because M+ was my jam back in the day.

Being boosted? Play bgs there you see the average wow player. Thats what you get on low score such as 2k. The average wow player who has no idea what they are doing and the boosted ones not even actively playing the game. Find a guild and group up with them… you are better off there

Those dungeons felt like they were designed by somebody who never had to angle their camera and adjust their nameplate settings while inside of them. Super cool thematically and visually, though.

Yes. It should be counted against you.

We’ve all probably left a key at some point or another. I have, because some groups are utter disasters. They’re OBVIOUSLY utter disasters.

Whenever I run in a Mists, odds are probably 75% that the group will wipe on the first pull. Or, at least, someone will die. It happens all the time. Why that pull? I dunno. It just happens, but it’s not indicative that the group is going to fail the dungeon. It’s more like not everyone has had there coffee yet.

On that note, I had a Mists key drop from 11 to 8 one week, and only once did we get past the first boss. And each time the 4 remaining players were “??? WTH just happened?”

It’s one thing to leave every now and then. How many emergencies can a person have? There are bad groups, but they are GROSSLY over represented on the forums.

I can safely say that I’ve had more successful pug runs, percentage wise, than guild runs. The guild runs just don’t have the drama. But they don’t make the timer either. If I want to push a key, I have better luck pugging.

But people who leave typically have a pattern of behavior of leaving. They leave a lot. And you know what? As someone forming a group, I don’t want people who leave a lot. I’d rather have a crummy tank that stays than a über tank that leaves.

I would love a stat to show how many dungeons you’ve bailed on in the past 10 days. How many times you were the first one to leave, how many times you were vote kicked out.

Everyone has a bad run, but when a pattern emerges, and it does, I’d like to keep those folks out of my group.

Yes, there were issues with cameras. Tanking the last boss of TD was the worst, but I liked the general feel of the dungeons. I felt like I was in Azeroth. I don’t with this new set, but I rediscovered PvP so it’s all good.

Now I just work at my arena game and try to improve there. I find it more fulfilling anyways, tons of areas to improve on there and it is a race with myself.

They were all utterly worthless in Season 1, too. I had way more positive experience with Arcane back then. Some things never change.
