ALLIED RACES and the chore that it is to unlock them.
I see the new allied race, the new hotness. I want to play em, but there are task that I need to complete in order to play em.
The problem is that they’re only a new race not a new class so the desire is fleeting. I mean do I really want to go through all this trouble just to unlock a new race that I will have either pay to boost, level up from 20, or pay for a race change on one of my already leveled up toons? To make a long answer short. No.
But how does this affect your ability to play the game you ask? I’ll tell you… no matter how much I push it into the back of my mind it is always there. Something new that I do not have, that I can have, if I only put in the work. So my mouse arrow hovers over the play button… just hovers over it.
So what do you think about the chore of unlocking the new playable races that lets face it you’ll likely never play apart from the new Troll Paladins?
Instant gratification is the cancer of MMOs. Here I am, a new player, doing argent tournament for the first time and loving it, and you all are talking about not being about to play zandalari paladin instantaneously, right off the bat.
i agree. i have mostly alliance and just one horde rogue. i thought it might be cool to level a brown orc. i haven’t leveled many horde toons and thought it might be worth while. that brown orc quest is just ludicrous. no way i want to go through all that for a re-skin.
i also wouldn’t mind having a troll pally, but i moved that rogue over to horde so i don’t have the prereq’s for the troll. again, it’s a character, why do you have to grind it out?
how many people that want to work in a video game work for a living. IF you do want to work for both, what is wrong with you? when do you relax, and have fun? all work and no play…
I am not playing this game for allied races so not having them doesn’t bother me at all. When I get time I might do the scenerios though to unlock them but there is no hurry on that.
You play a video game, but don’t want to play it to get a reward that’s given out for playing the very same video game. If you don’t want do what is necessary, then it’s not that important to you. In your last paragraph, it reads that you should get the ability to play the new race, just because you see them everywhere, but can’t(won’t) expend the effort that’s required to unlock them, so you’re definitely have an entitlement mindset.
For me, I have a hard time understanding the very concept that the OP has mentioned. It never felt like i was working towards it because it was done over the course of time doing things for other reasons than focusing on the requirements.
I had intended to do all the story quests in the first place as a wants to see as much as the lore as I can. Thus finishing A nation united and Tides of vengence.
WQ and emissaries is my main source of Azerite power so I ended up doing those regularly thus the requirements have been met naturally over the course of a few months for the rep i needed. (I don’t like IE)
in order to complete pathfinder I had to complete War campaign, rep, and “a Nation united” anyways.
In order to open Siege I had to do a nation united.
in order to open up Kings Rest I had to do the War campaign.
Revered was needed for profession items so a good chunk was already done attempting to get flasks and champions was needed for neck piece.
When I look at that All the goals I had for other things, opening allied races was kind of a side bonus. It was the same way about Voidelves and Lightforge while doing Argus. Understandably though, Now that we are in BFA going back to older content seems silly.
