I was 389 item level at the time, I dusted off a character on retail that I long stopped playing
You can still get this, theres no elitism in a time walking raid
The raid was also easy as everything including illidari council was downed within 2 minutes, the only problem you may have is supremeus but that’s it
You shouldn’t have fear of joining a pug, there’s one that doesn’t really care what your logs look/gear

Congrats!
As a side note, I know these are iconic and all so that’s why they didn’t really change much about them, but good grief would I love to get my hands on a modern take of these with a few more pixels…
Thank you for that info! Raids in general make me nervous but if they tuned them to be just as ‘average’ as the TW dungeons, then i might give it a shot!

The only problem you have is that it takes forever to get done, so much walking, so much trash, but the bosses are quite easy, you just might need a couple of wipes here or there for people to get used to it.

Considering they brought back Sulfuras back with a high quality version in Cataclysm, I’m surprised they didn’t do anything like that with the Warglaives during Legion. It would have been perfect.

Those are some glorious warglaives. Congratulations on sticking it out!
I used to love pushing myself to create and join those raids. I did Rag TW before and it was a really nice experience. I dislike that I no longer have the drive/patience for pushing for it, but you have given me plenty of motivation to!! (I’m sure to many others too).

The OG glaives should be moggable by classes who can equip them.
Then getting this achievement should grant new HD versions of the glaives to DH players.

Congratulations! It is a bit of a right of passage for a DH.

Congrats!!! I actually just got mine this week, did the raid on my healer and it was sooo easy. We had like 21 people and probably 15 were “clueless,” but most bosses died before even using more than 1-2 mechanics and none of those were fatal.
We wiped once early when hunter pets pulled like 4 trash packs and Suprmeus all at once and that actually was close. A few more well times CDs and we probably would have downed all that at once.
I thought that’s what the Mage Tower appearance was supposed to be? It kinda reminds of the Azzinoth blades, so that’s what I thought they were going for.
Too small not even the same iconic look
That one is closerish to the warglaives Illidan started using in Legion, but they were very much not the usual Warglaives of Azzinoth.
Come to think of it I’m not even sure where those new ones came from.
rogues and warriors both had the ability to use them in TBC… it’s not like this was some type of error. It was very intentional. If they used them during TBC then they should certainly be able to transmog them now.
It’s actually exactly what Illidan started using in Legion. And with the glowy stuff, I just assumed that’s why they were going with that look, since it was similar to the Azzinoth blades. Definitely not exact, but reminded me of them, at least.
I meant I don’t know where Illidan got them from, since they were clearly not the Warglaives of Azzinoth.
I suppose, lore wise since players looted the warglaives and the skull of gul’dan from him he wouldn’t have them now but ya know…Still.
I got Warglaives on rogues. At the time, they were iconic. They were like a 1-2% drop rate, so it could take a year or two to get both. My guild in Legion attempted timewalking BT, but it took so long we didn’t kill Illidan, so no unlock. Later, during BfA, I was brought in by a PvP group to tank that last boss, so I got the achievement.
My demon hunter played no part in earning that unlock. She hasn’t been logged into since I bought her a leveling carry during BfA. I think the transmog should be available to any character that has both main and offhand and can equip them, after the DH unlock is earned.
Warglaives of Azzinoth should’ve just been the Legion artifact for Demon Hunters.
It’s iconic to Demon Hunters in the same way the other Legion artifacts were to their respective classes.
I don’t even know what Demon Hunters got for their artifact, but I don’t need to know either to know that it’s in no way more iconic than these Warglaives.
Honestly some of the TBC items have higher pixel counts than DF gear.
