Its the audio and visual cues. When you press eyebeam you get 10 hits - its very intense. When you press blade dance you get 5 hits.
When you press demon bite and chaos strike you get one hit and the sound of for hit… even though the rotation does not really slow down in terms of button presses, the feeling because of the audio feedback makes it seem like my furious and fast paced demon hunter has slowed down to a crawl.
Would love to see demon bite split into 2 separate hits a MH and an OH hit and add a duplicate sound for the second hit.
Then again, maybe I am the only one who feels that way.
I understand what you mean as I have the same feeling with Monk WW blackout kick & fists of fury. But I have to say I like the DH sounds they give off the impression of being impactful.
Chaos strike hits twice tho
Yeah…
Not sure what you’re talking about, OP.
DB and CS are our two basic ability buttons. It’s not really like they’re supposed to be these larger than life abilities.
Also, who tf plays demon’s bite? Demon blades / felblade is better in like all forms of content
The sounds are great!!! Its going from Eyebeam and blade dance down to the single hit sound of demon bite and chaos strike that feels off to me (and is often complained about with DH players).
Its the sound of it though doesnt really reverb enough on the second strike to sound as viceral so when you have 1 ‘hit’ sound over the space of a GCD instead of several thats what makes it feel slow, this is compounded as its usually back to back demonbite/chaos strikes which exacerbates that feeling.
For example if demon bite was rhythmically like a shotgun “chick-chick” with the glaive strike sound effect the rotation doesnt change but because of the audio feedback it still feels frantic and high paced.
Is it really though, or are you trying to strengthen your argument by making it seem like people agree with you after already stating you aren’t sure if anyone agrees with you…
Relentless Onslaught procs definitely spice up the Chaos Strike runs… but yeah I see what you mean, that and Felblade is amazing in comparison aesthetically.
I understand how small my perspective of the game is which is why I was opening it up for conversation, I feel this way, I have a friend and another guildie who plays wow and feels this way… I am unsure how the DH community feels outside of that.
I have a read a few threads about how slowing down DH in general after legion and BFA (specifically around the shortness of meta after eye beam and the legendary which gave lower CD on eyebeams made the class feel worse, I agree with that a lot)!!
I hate demons bite. Felblade is way more fun and really emphasizes the “you can’t get away from me” approach of a demon hunter. It reminds me of an even more boring version of crusader strike

To me, the animations are great in normal form… I would like to see a more impactful animation in meta so my big giant demon isn’t playing nascar with all that spin to win and it feels like I got more powerful with the skills
They could use a lil spice. Trade the animations for essence break and chaos strike, add demon bite animation like druid brear maul but with a demon. Boom fixed
