I feel too far behind to play Classic WOW

It isn’t made up. People openly admit to buying gold, and offer to sell you “safe” gold.

One more reason we should have the token

Tokens are just sanctioned RMT, that’s even worse. At least with what we have we can pretend RMT isn’t allowed and the game has some integrity of some kind.

Sadly, Dot is right. I drank the kool aid and the markets are whack with bot shenanigans

Its changed on how some of us gnome traders see TBC releasing at all, and sooner.

Imagine if TBC never came the first time…it fixed a ton of these issues.

Whats wrong with RMT? Pay2win seems just as good a system as nolife2win. RMT is good for me i have lots of money and little time to play so anything that supports pay2win is good in my book.

It won’t be. They’re going to have some means to continue playing vanilla. They may have to consolidate servers at some point but there will always be the die hards.

Yeah I wouldn’t do that on your first character. Everyone should experience the leveling experience through questing and dungeons at least once. Boosting your 2nd or 3rd is fine but don’t do it the first time to 60.

I mean it depends on what he wants. If he enjoys leveling then sure but if all he wants is end game content he should know he has the option to skip alot of the leveling. As someone who doesn’t care about being first i consider starting late in any game a boon you get to the end game content much faster and with much less time invested.

P2W is basically the single biggest thing wrong with modern gaming.

Nobody wants to boost, not really. It’s not a fun way to level. It’s just the most efficient. And he can’t really boost his first character without buying gold. And buying gold is super lame.

It really isn’t.
I leveled this dude to 60 in the first month with my group which started a guild. We did MC for a month and some people weren’t feeling it and we disbanded. Them leaving made my motivation drop too so I quit.
I just came back to the game in May and finished a level 14 paladin to 60. Got into a guild right in time for AQ40 opening to finish. Raided a ton until recently they took a raiding break until Naxx but some have left now and they decided to wait til TBC to recruit to full time raid again so naturally many left.

I decided I’m tired of main raiding as heals on the paladin (and this now-alt) and have my hunter to 53 on a different server. I’ll be finding myself a guild to hopefully raid AQ40 into Naxx and into TBC now on him.

My point is with my classic life-story is to tell you I’m having a ton of fun jumping back in even late in the game. Any medium-high pop realm that I’ve seen still has plenty of old content being ran, especially in alt raids. In fact on Westfall/Faerlina the two high pop realms my characters are on there are SO many pugs. Often times many others are full of gear and you might get half or more of a tier set in one run.

There’s a lot of old content being ran including 5 mans/10 man dungeons. There are even still a lot of fresh raiding guilds I see that are starting out and clearing content in order.

You have a lot of options - naturally if you go on a low pop realm you’ll have a different experience. Most of those people have guilded with similar times/interests and you’ll struggle more to pug.

All in all classic is VERY alive and easy to hop into no matter if you haven’t played at all or have a character already.

On the leveling - especially if you’re a paladin. Just keep a mild healing set of whatever cloth/leather/mail/etc intellect/+healing gear that you can and heal dungeons. Or tank them. It’s a bit easier to sneak by with a heal set and at lower levels in dungeons. Tanking will probably get groups even easier but can be more demanding on your level/gear and of course your group.

I don’t boost with the exception of a little ZG just because I like to be honored pretty quick. I do a solid mix of questing/dungeons and I have a good time and still level at a fair rate considering my playtime.

Just don’t stress about it and have fun playing if you want to play

On Earthfury, it is by no means impossible to find leveling groups alliance side. But it’s not super easy like it was 6 mo ago either.

So true. P2W, micro transactions, half finished games gated behind additional pay walls.

Developers aren’t striving to create good games anymore. Only how to milk the most cash out of their product.

From a business standpoint I can’t hate at all but as a gamer wellll, it’s why I won’t bother buying anymore consoles and typically only play retro games.

They just don’t make em like they used to!

It takes very little effort to catch up. The only important thing to do is hit 60 then find a guild you even running with… they’ll gear you up. You won’t immediately be in Naxx but you’ll be raiding.

It won’t get replaced. That would defeat the whole purpose of recreating it.

As someone who didn’t play for 6 months (I left shortly before BWL release), a lot of the catching up on gear was pretty easy. And attunements are not nearly as big of a pain as they will be in TBC. It’s just that you have a far lower chance of getting the highly sought after items with many fewer attempts at them.

Stop stressing about it and just play.
People ruin games (not just WoW) for themselves by constantly worrying about stuff like this.
You can have a ton of fun in Classic WoW without EVER setting foot in a single raid (if it came to that, which it wouldn’t).

They didn’t wait 15 years to make classic just to get rid of it with TBC.
If (when) they make TBC, it will be separate servers.
It’s the only thing that makes sense.

I plan on doing TBC regardless, I just don’t want to miss out on the Vanilla content while its still “current”, especially out of fear that it might be shut down so they can release TBC.

It’s been said multiple times classic will not be shut down until Blizzard closes the doors. If you want to be on current content then just level, you have a month before Naxx is even out and at least a 3-6 month window of it being “current”.

Will do…while at the same time playing Warcraft 3 again and Current WOW.

Im subbed right now to get my warlock to 60 so hes ready in case tbc comes out. Do that at least with your pally and then you can ready this time.
