The things that seem to be normal to them have to be very frustrating. Imagine walking into a Shopping Center and having the groceries disappear right as you put them in your basket or having the entire southwest side of a Shopping Center’s items disappear right as you walk into that area. Even worse is that you have worked so hard to select the highest quality items to place in your basket only to realize when you checkout that they are only the Storebrand low quality versions of what you came to get.

If it’s really this.
Just change your route, you’re following someone else around. The nodes despawn behind you as well, spreading the frustration to other farmers.

I’m going to assume they mean how often gathering nodes can just up and disappear on you before you get to them or worse, when you’re half way through picking them.
It probably depends on which server you’re on, but my druid can have it happen often enough it’s kind of annoying.

I’m an herbalist and a miner on five characters. If nodes disappear on me, then I change my route. If I hit an area I know has phasing issues, I turn around.

I thought Blizzard employees only had to deal with milk disappearing.
